All this political bickering here isn't necessary... nor is it helpful...

Charles Fox10 said:Let's just simplify things...

It can't happen, and honestly, it shouldn't... because doing so would essentially be an insult to the Office of the President and the Constitution itself.

Solid idea. Really clean way to simplify things...
👍

Scott Cruz4 said:Not true...

Not quite...
Can we finally wrap up all this politics on a non-political PDF...

Jose White18 said:Give me one single example where that happened without any consequences—because until then, it’s just not a valid argument.

Now, maybe Kamala Harris carries more weight in some ways, but she doesn't hold a higher office just because she isn't performing the specific role she was directly elected for. I mean, the President is the Head of State, not the Prime Minister. 🙂

I pulled that straight from a thread I opened recently.

The issue here isn't Kamala Harris—it's Davor Šuker—and that post wasn't even flagged.

In that thread, I ran into a massive pile of these insults directed at other members of the U.S. Government (from that same user), which—frankly—is totally unacceptable. If it's considered unacceptable to insult President Joe Biden, then why isn't this? That’s what the moderator Charles Fox10 noted.

So, I’m asking again—really, I am—by what twisted law of logic is it okay to insult Davor Šuker but forbidden to criticize President Joe Biden?!

Common sense would suggest that both a Cabinet Secretary and the President are on equal footing when it comes to the rules of the Politics Forum.

And by the way: please, let's not fall back on the whole "direct election" argument, because that doesn't justify this sheer illogic.
If we went by that reasoning, I guess those of us who didn't vote for Joe Biden should be allowed to insult him, while his supporters wouldn't be? It makes no sense.

I mean, honestly, where does that leave us?

It definitely is.

Let’s finally wrap up all this political chatter on a non-political PDF.

I agree 😳

Gentlemen, this moderator has spent nearly a decade on this Forum enduring a constant barrage of nicknames—both mine and yours—for our President. From ridiculous insults to just plain absurd labels, it’s been quite a ride. In the interest of democracy and basic human decency, I’m asking you to please stop inventing these various "creative" monikers for the President. By respecting the Office of the Presidency, we respect the Constitution of the United States, and I trust we all agree that upholding our Constitution is important.

Thanks.

It’s everything from goofy nicknames to straight-up insults. In the name of democracy and just being decent human beings, I’m asking you guys to stop making up these ridiculous labels for our President. If we respect the office of the Presidency, we respect the Constitution of the United States. I think we can all agree that respecting our laws is important.

Thanks.

Right back at ya!
I'm saving this one.
Wait until someone tries to stir the pot!
If insults are allowed, then anything goes.
If they aren't, then they aren't—keep the Forum chill!

Personally, as both the President and a regular user here, I'm all for
banning insults against everyone, even the most basic users!
That way, the writing stays unique and colorful—makes for a better Forum!

Wrong. Of course it isn't.

By respecting the office of the Presidency, we respect the Constitution of our country... and I'd like to believe we all care about upholding that.

Thanks.

I completely agree.

You're mistaken—it absolutely is.

Look, you've already got a whole thread dedicated to demographics—in every single US Census, we’ve identified as Americans, Mexicans... there were barely any people declaring themselves as Yugoslav.

Charles Fox10 said:Look, gentlemen—this moderator has been dealing with people throwing insults at our leaders here on this Forum for nearly a decade now. It’s always the same thing, isn't it? People coming up with all sorts of ridiculous nicknames and labels for our President—everything from weird little jabs to just plain nonsense—and frankly, in the interest of democracy and, I don't know, just basic human decency, I’m asking you all to please stop inventing these "creative" monikers for the President. If we actually respect the office of the Presidency, then we respect the Constitution of the United States, and I’d like to believe we all care enough about our country to show that respect.

Thanks.

🤦

So, according to this logic, a Secretary is just some nobody that nobody even voted for, so it's perfectly fine to write stuff like:

he says: I won't work with that damn Davor Šuker and other bottom-feeders like him! — implying that the political climate in the country will shift until it becomes impossible for an idiot like him to serve as Secretary of the Treasury.

In the American Government, a Secretary is allowed to call a total idiot like Davor Šuker a bottom-feeder.

And you have the nerve to talk to me about respecting the institutions of the United States!?

Honestly, I'm speechless.

Hey, we totally missed answering this one!!!
Isn't calling someone a Yugoslav supposed to be an insult?!?!
Does that count the same way as being called pro-European?!

Exactly.
The Secretary is just a non-entity who lacks any real mandate.
But the way people are allowed to write about him? That's a whole different story.

Wait, we completely missed responding to this specific case.
Wouldn't calling someone a Yugoslav be considered an insult here?
Does that fall under the same umbrella as being "pro-European"?

Charles Martin2, you're going to be the death of me; I'm just looking for a shred of basic decency.

This might even warrant a lockout.

Charles Martin2, you know perfectly well that even a flower can be used as an insult if the context is right enough
😁

Honestly, I’m inclined to side with Charles Fox10 on this one and just call this whole episode closed
It's a shame, really, because I have no doubt we'll be seeing more of this nonsense down the road
