redharbor23 said:Look, I get that she meant well, okay?🙂 But honestly, what she said just sounded totally off to me. You can't really compare those two things—it’s apples and oranges. Most people posting on here are either medical pros or they've been through some serious hell themselves, either personally or with someone close.

So, I totally get where this person is coming from, and I'm not saying those two situations are the same thing—I was just sharing my take. Fine, whatever. Everything's great. And yeah, I know exactly what the OP is going through right now.

So, how’s the person who actually started this whole mess doing?

So, here’s a real-deal example of what viral encephalitis looks like. It started with this massive herpes simplex outbreak on the lip—super intense. Then came the fever, total weakness in my limbs, just feeling completely drained, dizzy, and dealing with killer headaches. On top of all that, I was insanely sensitive to light and sound, plus one side of my face and part of my tongue just went totally numb. Honestly, going through those kinds of shifts is pretty terrifying. Even though we jumped on treatment early on, recovery has been dragging on for months. Right now, I'm on acyclovir and B vitamins, which is really just the bare minimum you need to survive this.
