Hey, quick question. I’m no expert on this stuff, but I think I know what I’m looking for...

So, there’s this contest out there—doesn't matter what it is or where it's hosted. Basically, you only get one shot because they track your IP address or whatever...😁
And you definitely can't run two different accounts to try and get extra entries. If you do, you'll get banned once they catch on...🤷

Here's the deal: I know there are ways to switch your IP to a different country without being obvious. So, if I set up a new account with an IP from a specific country, I'd need to stay on that same country's IP consistently. It doesn't have to be the exact same IP every single time, just always from that same country...

Is there a specific program for this? My neighbor mentioned some VPN or Proxy Foxi thing...😁 He says there are ways to pull it off, but he won't help me out because he's worried it might be detectable and doesn't want to cause any trouble...

If anyone knows, thanks. Hope I phrased that right, I'm not exactly a tech wizard...

Why don't you try checking your IP address first, then go ahead and run CCleaner to clear out all your history and cookies?
After that, just give your router a quick reset and check your IP again, and you should find that you've been assigned a completely different one...

..Look, even if you reset the router and flip the IP, you’re still going to show up in the same state and probably the same city.

Maybe they should give the TOR browser a shot.😁

did you even read what I wrote? 🤷
I know how to change an IP to 192.168.1.1 just by connecting and disconnecting, I don't need to reboot a whole router, that's the last thing I need to do...😁

I need a way to get an IP from a different country.... and it needs to stay on that same country for this forum account, nothing else. The IP doesn't have to be the same, just from the same country

Tried TOR and when I hit http://whatismyipaddress.com/ it says I'm in Italy, but it also shows

SERVICES: PROXY DETECTED

If that site sees it, the forum admin is definitely gonna see I'm using a proxy....

Anyone else able to help out?

Is there some kind of VPN or something else besides TOR that has an undetected proxy?

I don't think one exists. You'd need a completely private server to pull that off... something totally off the grid and invisible to any standard web search.

I actually used this software once myself, and it’s pretty interesting because you can basically select which country you want to appear as if you're browsing from. I even scored a free 1 GB thumb drive when I picked up the software! It felt like it operated based on data usage—you'd essentially lease a 1 GB chunk of data, and once you burned through it, you were locked out until you topped it back up. Honestly, it's driving me crazy trying to remember the exact name of the program, but I did use it to get back onto a forum where I had been banned.

If you're trying to pull something like that without using a proxy, your only real move is grabbing a VPN provider. It’ll cost you a few bucks a month, so I honestly don't know if it's even worth your money right now, but most of them usually give you some kind of free trial period to test the waters first.

Just grab Tor and it’ll swap out your IP address for you. You can find plenty of those tools on torrent sites too—you just type in an IP and the software pops right up. Usually, we're talking about small, lightweight programs, maybe 10 to 15 megabytes. They aren't bad at all, though your connection speed might take a bit of a hit. Still, it gets the job done if you need it...
