I’ve been struggling with my bowel movements for four days now, and honestly, it's becoming unbearable. I feel the urge to go, but it’s just pure agony because everything is so hard and lodged there that it feels impossible to actually get anything done. The cramping is intense, and there's this constant burning sensation that just won't quit. I’m currently thinking about taking some Dulcolax since I read online that it helps clear things out. Does anyone have any advice—will that actually work for me? I’m feeling pretty desperate at this point...

Oh, please don't... you should probably take laxatives in the evening since they usually kick in after about eight hours. Unless, of course, you want to be stuck on the toilet wide awake waiting for it to happen. If you're a night owl, maybe then, but I suppose the idea is to take them at night so they "get you moving" in the morning, especially since that's when the physiological urge is strongest anyway. It will help, I guess, but I wouldn't rely on laxatives long-term. You really need a balanced diet with plenty of fiber and perhaps some probiotic supplements, like Normie, Flagyl, Align, or Culturelle, etc.

Honestly, just go ahead and take 2 Dulcolax. You'll be good to go in about 3 hours, so there's really no need to make him wait 8 hours.

Thanks! I just took it at 6:00, so I guess we'll see how things play out...

Drink, I think, two liters of herbal tea, no sugar added

I have finally decided that I shall relocate this particular discussion over to the health forum.

I took some Dulcolax about five hours ago and still haven't felt anything. Seriously, when is this stuff actually gonna kick in so I can finally move on with my life? 🤣
