So, this has actually happened to me before, though I couldn't figure out why at the time. I was dealing with this burning, aching sensation in my wrist joints—I honestly just assumed it was from a draft or catching a chill. But then my leg started acting up too, and now my hands are back at it again. I barely slept a wink last night because the burning was so intense. Now my leg is throbbing as well. It’s this heavy, dull ache that's just really wearing me down. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or why it keeps happening?

Could be an autoimmune thing, maybe something like rheumatoid arthritis. Basically just some kind of internal inflammation. It’s treatable, though. Best bet is to hit up your primary care doctor first; they'll probably send you to see a rheumatologist. Good luck.

A rheumatologist? I don't know, maybe that's not quite right since I'm only 22. But then again, who knows... maybe.

That "burning" sensation is nerve pain, or neuropathy. It can stem from diabetes or thyroid issues, but more likely, it's your spine.

If I were you, I'd ask for a referral to a neurologist and get an MRI of the entire spine. Since it's hitting both your arm and leg, it could be anything from your neck down to your lower back.

I find myself in complete agreement with crimsongull20 regarding this matter, as what you are describing sounds suspiciously like neuropathy, so I would strongly urge you to schedule an appointment with a neurologist immediately, as they are the only ones equipped to investigate the underlying cause of that burning sensation, which could range from something as trivial as a simple B6 deficiency to far more serious hereditary conditions...

That burning sensation and those aches in your hands and feet could actually be caused by a deficiency in B12 or magnesium.
