I don't know, we were thinking about maybe heading over to Zlatan Medo if they're working the New Wave set, then seeing if there's a cafe or a club with anything going on

Honestly, the best move is to just rent out a venue with your crew, invite everyone over, and actually enjoy yourselves 😁
Last year, I tried hosting an outdoor party, and let me tell you, it was a total disaster and definitely not worth the headache 🙂

Honestly, I’ve never been a fan of that whole scene out on the streets or crowding into clubs... it's always just a massive, suffocating mess where you can barely find a spot to stand, let alone actually enjoy yourself or celebrate New Year's Eve. I mean, if you want to hit the clubs, you can do that any damn Saturday night. For New Year's? Just grab your crew, rent a big house out in the Hamptons or somewhere up in the Catskills, and just go wild. You do whatever you want without anyone breathing down your neck, and that's really all there is to it. 🙂

The whole absurdity of celebrating New Year's Eve boils down to the fact that we’re basically throwing a party for something that hasn't even happened yet.
It reminds me of what my fictional hero used to say—you know the vibe—"We figured we'd grab a victory drink right now, just in case we don't actually need one later."
Anyway, on that note—depending on whatever your specific taste in music is—you should probably figure out if you're looking for a hip-hop spot, some rock, punk, pop, or maybe just a dive bar where the drinks are cheap and plentiful. Once you decide, then go hunt it down. 😉

I’m probably just going to spend New Year's Eve riding the subway—just a few of us grabbing some drinks and circling the city. We won't need to go out and rent a private space or anything since we've already got 😁

Not sure what your budget looks like, but a buddy mentioned the Shaballa Org event is about $280 per person... all-you-can-eat food and drinks included 😉

I’m honestly getting pretty desperate here, so I’ve become somewhat dependent on the replies to this thread. Please, help me out as much as you can, and I promise I won't forget the favor.
There’s still a week left until the New Year, and I am completely clueless about where I’m supposed to spend it. What I’m looking for is whatever insider info you guys might have regarding my following questions:
1. Where can I find a New Year's Eve celebration that doesn't charge an entrance fee—basically a "pay as you go" kind of vibe?
2. If there are any organized parties happening where the cover charge isn't more than $33 per person, where should we look?
3. Just give me your honest recommendations for a decent way to ring in the New Year without spending a fortune, and ideally somewhere other than just standing in a public square or staying stuck at home.
(Keep in mind I'm looking for spots in NYC or moving east from there)
