The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

To be honest, I was expecting you to have mastered the art of posting polls without any trouble by now... or are we looking at another duplicate thread? :-D

Honestly—I don't think The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is actually a trilogy at all. It’s really just one massive movie split into three parts—mostly because they wanted to maximize those box office returns, which ended up carrying over directly into how the films were structured!

I agree. If we can apply that logic to Star Wars, then it certainly applies here too. Personally, I found the first installment to be the strongest, even if the third part is undeniably the most epic.

I went with Return of the King because it’s got the most adrenaline and finally wraps up that massive epic.
Look, it's tough to separate them—I hate picking favorites—but if I'm forced to choose just one, it's definitely part 3. Don't get me wrong, parts 1 and 2 are absolute masterpieces, truly top-tier stuff.
All three movies are flawless; I gave them all a perfect 10/10 on IMDb 👍

I get it, man—it's one single story split into three parts. But look, just like you have a favorite scene in a movie, you can still have a favorite installment of a trilogy. 👍

It’s honestly impossible for me to pick just one—at least in my case! Every single scene across the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy is absolutely perfect. 👍

I always do—I stick to Jackson's versions. I've only seen the theatrical cuts in theaters and honestly, don't plan on watching them again... I've probably watched the whole thing at least ten times, if not more!!!!!!!!!!!! Just waiting on the Blu-ray release now...

I’ve got the theatrical cuts for all three movies and the extended versions meant for home viewing.
Between the two versions—watching the extended ones twice and the originals once—that adds up to nine full viewings of the trilogy. Nine times.

They’re great movies, don't get me wrong, but calling them the best trilogy ever? I wouldn't go that far. Personally, I gave them all an 8, though if I'm being honest with myself, they're probably more like an 8.5 for me.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched the theatrical cuts—I’m being dead serious, I counted at least 50... and the extended versions? Those are a mandatory ritual for me every two months since they were released. I even went as far as getting a sentence from the first movie tattooed in Tengwar script...

They might not be the greatest cinematic achievements ever made, but they are hands down my favorite films in existence...

That first one... it holds a special place in my heart. That’s where it all began for me, and honestly, it has the most "soul" of them all...

And man, I absolutely lose my mind whenever a new Blu-ray edition drops. 😁

In my estimation, every single one of them possesses its own distinct soul and feels like a complete, cohesive journey (and you're absolutely right, crimsontrucker4, it really is all one continuous narrative 😁).
When you opt for the extended cuts, I find the third installment is significantly more rewarding than what we saw in theaters. The theatrical ending always felt a bit dragged out to me, yet they somehow managed to leave out several pivotal moments. I’ll always suggest sticking to the director's cuts whenever possible.

That being said, the first one remains my absolute favorite and holds a special place in my heart.

The first one is easily my top pick because it actually stays true to the novel... the other two? Total nightmares—just Jackson’s wild fabrications and those two women making things up as they go...
