Where can I find a good cardiologist?

I find myself in need of a consultation with a cardiologist; my recent EKG results were somewhat disconcerting, to say the least.
My physician suggested that there are private clinics that accept standard insurance referrals, though she was frustratingly vague about which specific facilities they are, merely asserting that finding them would be a trivial task—a claim I have found to be entirely untrue.
I am perfectly willing to pay out of pocket to expedite this process, yet I am struggling to locate a single clinic or medical practice that maintains a functional website featuring transparent, upfront pricing.🙄

Consequently, I am turning to you all: does anyone know of a reputable clinic that accepts insurance referrals? If not, could you provide some insight into the typical costs for such examinations and consultations?

I used to see Dr. Horvat over in Siget. She’s a decent doctor—explains all the tests clearly and lets you ask whatever questions pop into your head—but the wait times are brutal; you can end up sitting there for hours just waiting for your turn.
I’m planning to head over to Medicard, a private clinic, later today. I don't know much about their pricing or the specifics yet, but they told me Malčić is one of the best in the field. If he really lives up to that reputation, I won't mind paying the premium for private care to get things done right.

Malčić is a pediatric cardiologist. Adult cardiology is a whole different ballgame.

If you happen to be in the Chicago area, I’d highly recommend checking out the heart specialty clinic over on 13 Drašković Street or perhaps looking into Siget... you can usually get an appointment through your insurance pretty quickly, and the doctors there are truly top-notch. They’ll typically get your EKG done the same day, and you can usually see the cardiologist within a week.

I know his practice focuses on kids, but when I called them up, they told me I could still come in for a private consultation even though I’m no longer under their pediatric care.🤷

I have been a patient of Dr. Ernst at Medikol for about 12 years now. He truly is an exceptional physician, and I couldn't be more satisfied with his care. It took some time, but he was finally able to pinpoint the correct diagnosis after all my various symptoms surfaced, and I have been on a steady treatment plan ever since. Most importantly, my condition hasn't regressed once. As far as the logistics go, I find the pricing quite reasonable, wait times are minimal, and you can reach out whenever necessary. He also maintains a practice over at Mayo Clinic.

You can use your insurance referral at Medikol, or just pay privately; I know quite a few people who have gone there and were really happy with the service. I'm not sure about the exact pricing, though, so you might want to just give them a call and ask.
