Beyond just what we eat—and let’s be real, there is so much junk we shove into our bodies without even thinking about it—there's this whole other side to health that people are actually starting to take seriously now, even in mainstream American medicine. It's the idea that our thoughts, our fears, those deep-seated emotions we try to bury... they all play a massive role in how our physical bodies actually function. I'm not trying to put everything into neat little boxes or label stuff as "alternative" or whatever, because honestly, labels just get in the way. But does anyone else want to dive into how energy actually interacts with matter? I mean, at its core, isn't that exactly what metaphysics is all about?

I’m with you on that—your mindset really does mess with your health. It hits your head first, then your body follows. If someone is constantly stuck in a dark headspace, they’re eventually gonna get sick. And then? We all just sit around waiting for some "magic pill" to fix everything. Sure, maybe it helps for a minute, but it isn't going to actually heal you.

Without getting too caught up in labels like "alternative" or whatever, does anyone want to chat about how energy affects matter? After all, that’s basically what metaphysics is all about.

I noticed you started a thread asking why we get sick. Why?
Everything you mentioned is spot on. It's also true that depression can pave the way for almost any kind of illness. But at the end of the day, sickness hits everyone—young people, seniors, those who are totally happy, and those struggling with anxiety or stress alike.
Personally, I think while stress is a massive trigger for most issues, genetics definitely plays a big part too.
Our health is really just a complex mix of things: diet, bad habits, stress, and yeah, those genetic factors.
I guess we mostly differ in how we handle it—some people accept being sick more easily than others.
Even when dealing with something minor, working with a doctor requires some effort on our part, and for serious stuff, it takes way more. Sometimes we're just lucky that medicine gives us a few good days, and we try to make the most of them.
We don't choose to get sick; sickness chooses us. I honestly think we can only control a small part of the factors that lead to it. At least, that's my take.

What I find so fascinating is how we’re raised here in the States—you know, as kids, we’re basically taught that having dark or "bad" thoughts is a sin, like it somehow makes you a fundamentally rotten person. Then hits adolescence, right? And suddenly you start realizing that feeling every single crazy, messy thing is actually just part of being human. It’s actually healthy to let those "ugly" emotions out. And now, fast forward to today, and we’re back at square one learning all over again, but for totally different reasons. Now it's about understanding the actual impact our mindset has on our lives and our physical health. Like, how our own projections can practically magnetize the very things we’re terrified of. But look, you can't just white-knuckle it by banning those thoughts or fears from your head. That’s not how the brain works. If you try that, you just end up as some frustrated wreck living in total denial, which honestly just invites physical illness because all those unprocessed emotions just sit there and fester in your body. No, the real trick is learning how to truly *know* that things will turn out okay—learning to see those massive obstacles as messages or stepping stones for growth instead!

If you ignore common sense, you're basically inviting trouble. We all know smoking, drinking too much, and living like a mess is bad news—so calling that "unlucky" is just picking a disease. Then we turn around and expect doctors to wave a magic wand and fix everything. I'm not talking about heavy genetic issues here, but most "everyday" health problems? Yeah, those are totally preventable.

Terry Cruz3, what’s your take on things like unexpressed anger, you know, or all that pain you just don't let out by crying? Where does that stuff actually go? Or even messy family drama that never gets settled, or just that constant, heavy dread about what the future holds...

If you spend every single day telling yourself you're an absolute wreck, what kind of person do you honestly think you'll become in twenty years? You certainly won't end up being someone confident and genuinely happy. 🙄

Everything you mentioned is basically just energy patterns. If we don't let them out—by crying, talking it through, or actually trusting the future—it all just turns into physical sickness.

I’m totally with you on that. It’s kind of like how eating junk food pumps all those nasty toxins into your system—bad thoughts are basically just mental toxins, right? They mess with your head just the same.

See, there you go. That's just plain wrong. We've known that since the dawn of modern science.

And that bolded part? Total nonsense. If you actually want to have a conversation about energy interacting with matter, you head over to the Natural Sciences department and talk about thermodynamics, materials physics, heat transfer, the photoelectric effect, and things like that.

But sure, clearly you have no idea what energy actually is. 🙂

I totally hear what you're saying, and I mentioned in my previous post how bad habits like smoking, drinking, or eating junk food can trigger health problems. But here's my reality check: I never touched any of that stuff. I lived a clean life, yet sickness found me when I least expected it. First one tumor, then another, then lymphatic leukemia, followed by glomerulonephritis and an autoimmune condition. So, tell me... why? It definitely wasn't because of "bad vibes," and it certainly wasn't from cigarettes or cocktails. I didn't choose this; it chose me. Any ideas?

Terry Cruz3 said:If we go against common sense, I suppose we’re essentially choosing to get sick. If we already know the damage caused by smoking, drinking, or just living an undisciplined lifestyle, then isn't it basically picking out our own illnesses? And then, predictably, we turn to doctors expecting some kind of magic pill to fix everything. I’m not talking about serious congenital issues or genetic predispositions here—most "everyday" ailments could probably be avoided if people were more careful.

I both agree and disagree with this...
What I mean is, not every smoker ends up with lung cancer, and not every heavy drinker develops cirrhosis... and so on. But they certainly invite trouble, and there's no doubt they significantly ramp up the risk of those specific diseases.
Of course, I think our mindset and how we feel can influence how a disease progresses—and maybe a negative attitude attracts negativity—but I still suspect it takes a whole host of different factors coming together at once to create the chaos that actually leads to illness.

Why are you being like this? What's with the attitude? You think you're some kind of expert trying to lecture me when I'm clearly just learning? Thanks a lot.
