I've tried starting a new thread in the movies subforum a few different times now, but the system just kicks me out every single time. I keep getting this ridiculous error message saying I don't have permission to start new topics in that section. Does anyone actually know what's going on here?

It looks like you might be facing a partial ban from this subforum. 🤷

@vividfalcon14/">@@vividfalcon14 - I’m skeptical about that.
@Frank Moore4/">@@Frank Moore4 - Try logging back into the forum before you try opening it again.
Or maybe just clear your browser cookies—I know, technically they shouldn't really affect this, but it's worth a shot.
It's entirely possible the forum servers were just acting up at that moment; they tend to glitch out pretty frequently.
I actually ran into something similar today when I tried to open a thread containing a PDF. I got an error message saying the thread didn't even exist, but once I hit refresh, everything worked perfectly fine.

@briskbison41/">@@briskbison41 - It’s unlikely to be anything more than a server hiccup; if they can't even manage to start a thread by tomorrow, they should probably just reach out to an administrator, preferably Bellwether. 😉

Yeah, it's totally possible we're looking at a server error here.

I don't have any kind of ban or anything, but I figured out later that the only way I can actually start a thread is if I strip out every single link first, no matter what site I'm trying to point to. The system just won't let me post links at all, even after I tried everything briskbison41 suggested. 😕

Alright, I just went ahead and kicked off this thread with all the links you guys were asking for. 🤷

I finally figured out what was going on. Turns out I’ve been manually typing out my tags using lowercase letters—[u.rl=][/u.rl]—but for some reason, over the last few days, the forum seems to only be accepting them if they're capitalized—[U.RL=][/U.RL]. It's honestly pretty annoying, especially since you used to be able to just type whatever you wanted regardless of case, or whether or not you actually wrapped the URL in quotes.

Honestly, I’m almost at a loss for words here. 🤷

Google

Just a heads up, the tags are all lowercase and there aren't any quotes around the URL.

Yeah, this board is being picky and only accepting uppercase tags right now. I ran into the same thing a couple of times trying to use

For crying out loud, what on earth are you guys even whining about? 🤷 Every single one of those tags in the examples above is written in lowercase.

When you first drop those tags into the thread, they look pretty small. But once you actually start building out a post—you know, adding links or filling them with actual text—they suddenly blow up and show up in all caps.🤷

It appears you can see that using lowercase letters isn't working here; I'm honestly a bit unsure as to what specifically you are looking for.

I honestly thought you’d typed it in all caps and just missed a few letters. Up in my previous post (post #10), I actually used capital letters for the quote tags, but for some reason, they came out lowercase.

silentsailor5 said:Look, it's obvious that using lowercase isn't breaking anything, so I'm really not sure what your deal is here.

Seriously, am I speaking Greek over here or something?

I ALWAYS WRITE MY TAGS IN LOWERCASE AND THEY WORK JUST FINE FOR EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!

Is that crystal clear enough for you now? 🤷

Um... everything seems fine... I noticed I swapped an O for a U in my post 😳

Hey everyone, does anyone know why I can't seem to start a new thread? Is it just me, or am I actually blocked from posting new topics? 0.o
