Up-and-coming bands

Found this band out of Washington, D.C. They played at Time last night. Don't have much background on them, but they seem interesting enough. Name's "Patient Carriers."

Check out this new crew coming out of ZGA. It’s basically just two buddies joining forces 😁
They’re deep into making oneself about filter house music—think Daft Punk, Stardust, or Le Knight Club vibes

So, after months of voting and all the chaos of the project itself, the band Oni actually pulled it off at the CMC demo contest. They managed to fight their way through 200 different bands just to hit the finals—which went down back on October 10th at the Boogaloo club in Washington, D.C.—and they ended up taking the whole thing by winning the fan vote. Their prize was some shiny new gear, too. 😉 I guess I’m just feeling a little vindicated because I believed in them from day one, basically acting as their unofficial PR agent here, and now I get to write about them being the absolute best demo band in America. 🙂 😉

Out of all those bands from the demo competition, I guess those were still my favorites.

Heroina is playing at the New Orleans Jazz Festival on November 10th.

So, they cleared out all their old stuff on MySpace, so there's basically just one thing left on there now, though you can still find a few bits over on Last.fm if you're looking.

A post-rock band from a small town in Ohio.
I stumbled upon them by chance while I was out in Columbus at a local theater. They're actually quite impressive.🙂

Hey, let’s shake things up in this thread a little bit. I’ve got a little something special for you guys today coming straight out of San Francisco. There’s this young band called R.M.A.—they're just kids, really, somewhere between 16 and 18 years old—and they actually just finished recording their very first track titled...Just erase me from your memory. Seriously, wipe the slate clean.The band leans pretty heavily into that rap-rock vibe—they’ve got a rapper and a female vocalist, which actually works really well together. I’ve seen a ton of people raving about this track lately, so I figured I’d drop it here. If you guys don't mind, give it a listen and let me know what you think. 🙂

Check out this young band from a small coastal town near San Francisco called Rinascimento. They’re playing some kind of rock, though I haven't quite pinned down the exact 😬 yet. So far, they’ve got six tracks under their belt—three of which were recorded in a studio and even have music videos on YouTube here:

On the second and third videos, you'll see the band actually performing live. Just a heads-up on the third one: the audio is intentionally out of sync because they were using a cheap camera with terrible stabilization while filming in the studio.
By the way, the session took place at that studio in Seattle, G.I.S.

The song choice is a bit odd for a debut single or video, considering it
runs nearly 8 minutes long; however, after John Doe and Mark Raguž,
members of Study Plus from Stoc, pitched their concept and script,
the guys from Siledžij decided pretty quickly to go through with it.

The video for "Something is rotten in the beautiful land" uses metaphors to follow
the lyrics while simultaneously telling a new story, which I guess completes
the overall message and vibe of the track.
