Tipping culture

Couldn't find a specific thread for this, so I figured I'd just ask here... do you guys tip your pizza delivery drivers or catering staff? If the total comes out to something like $26, would you just round it up to $80?

Yeah, I'm not gonna be stingy over a couple of bucks...

I usually just throw in an extra tip $3.25 since I hear delivery drivers are basically living on pennies. Besides, having worked in food service back in my younger days, I know exactly what kind of low-quality bread we're dealing with. I tend to give the DoorDash drivers a twenty, and honestly, it’s been a solid strategy—they actually remember me and go out of their way to be helpful next time.

I usually make sure to tip my servers and delivery drivers pretty well—typically around 10% of the total, or I’ll just round up to the nearest five or ten dollars to keep things simple. Honestly, it bugs me when I see someone being incredibly petty about wanting their change back, like if the bill comes out to $32 and they're practically demanding their last few cents.

Look, tipping is totally normal. It’s standard practice and usually even shows up right on the receipt. Honestly, if I had extra cash lying around to give to people living way better than us, I’d do it in a heartbeat—so why on earth would I deny a tip to someone working hard right here at home?
When it comes to smaller stuff, like just grabbing a drink, I usually just round up to the nearest dollar. But when it's a full meal? Yeah, I’m generous, and I scale that based on how good the service actually was.

As for the people who make a big deal out of not leaving a tip? I think they're just plain rude.

I just don't feel right if I don't leave a little something behind.
Besides, I know exactly how much it matters... I have a buddy who works as a server, and you can tell the difference immediately; his whole attitude shifts depending on whether someone leaves a tip or not.

I don't really go out of my way to leave tips—it just doesn't feel necessary to me.
