Canon i250 not responding. Help!

So, I’ve been running a Canon i250 for a few years now—it’s been a total workhorse—but everything went south about two weeks ago; now, every single time I try to hit print, I just get this dreaded "printer not responding" error message.
I’ve already tried the whole drill—reinstalling the drivers, swapping out every cable I own, basically anything to get it talking to my computer again—but absolutely nothing is working.
I spent quite a bit of time scouring the internet for a fix, but honestly, most of what I found was pretty useless and didn't actually address my specific situation.

Does anyone out there have a solution for this headache?
Also, does anyone know if this particular model is even compatible with Windows Vista?

I’ve got the exact same printer. It works perfectly for me.

Maybe try plugging it into a different computer? That way you can figure out if the issue is actually the hardware or just your PC.

Try wiping the drivers and uninstalling the printer entirely...

Once that's done, power the printer on and plug the USB cable back into your computer. It should recognize the device and prompt you for new drivers. Just install those fresh ones and you should be good to go.

If the print head is still good for around 100 bucks, $67 you might be able to swap it for a working one at a repair shop.

It shouldn't be a huge deal.
