Happy Gilmore (Golf Breaker)

Catch this one on FOX tonight—it’s easily one of my all-time favorites. It's that classic '96 comedy starring Adam Sandler about this total loser hockey player who somehow ends up becoming a golf pro by pure luck...

The plot isn't reinventing the wheel or anything. He basically has to win a tournament to save his grandma's house from being seized by the IRS, there's some greasy villain to deal with, and a little romance thrown in for good measure...

But honestly, the best part is seeing Carl Weathers as his coach and mentor. He was a legend on the course until a crocodile took his arm off, which is wild. And man, Sandler is just perfect playing that chaotic, unpredictable golfer who can't help but start a fight if the vibe is off...

Bottom line: it's a killer comedy you can watch on loop and never get bored of... 👍

I honestly wasn't feeling this movie at all, because some of those attempts at physical comedy just felt totally desperate and cringey, like when the main guy accidentally blasts people in front of their houses with a golf ball and a woman ends up tumbling out of her window😕, or that part where his coach falls right out of a window and dies 😕, and don't even get me started on the scenes where he loses his cool and starts swearing and smashing stuff—I mean, I get that it's supposed to be funny, but for me, it just didn't land 🤷

The only highlight for me was the grandma, who was actually pretty hilarious 😁 I’ve always found that elderly characters in American comedies are just inherently funny on their own 😁

It’s honestly stupid how much they missed the mark... it couldn't have been any dumber.
Just pure, unadulterated stupidity. A total garbage fire of a movie. Just complete idiocy from start to finish.
The absolute bottom of the barrel. I can't even find the words for how bad it was...

When he gets absolutely wrecked by that old man, it’s total slapstick nonsense, but honestly? I was cracking up...

The movie is super simple and definitely doesn't require much brainpower, but for me, it's just a great, chill watch...
