So, my dad’s dealing with some pancreas issues after surgery, which means he’s stuck taking Kreon enzymes for digestion for the rest of his life.
Unfortunately, the drug isn't fully covered by insurance—it's on that supplemental list. He needs 6 pills a day, and it turns out he’s having to shell out about $60 every single month just for that. On top of that, because of his diabetes, he’s also paying extra for Novonorm tablets, so we’re looking at over $67 every month. Honestly, how is someone supposed to manage that on a tiny Social Security check? Anyway, here’s my question: since this is a chronic condition, is there any way to get the Kreon covered for free? Who should I even talk to about this? I don't live in the US, so I’m pretty much clueless when it comes to how all these American laws and insurance systems work. Has anyone dealt with something similar?
Thanks!
