fadedorca66 said:What kind of "bargain bin" are we talking about here? People suggested some pretty solid cases; I think you're overreacting a bit. So, if it isn't Zalman, it's trash? If it isn't XFX, it's garbage?

Did the guy actually come in and ask for a build he could upgrade in a year? No. So, this is a balanced configuration.

Exactly, that's the question. That's why it's built for current needs, because nobody knows how Grand Theft Auto V is going to perform or what its requirements will actually be. And you keep bringing up $667. It might not even cross your mind that the guy might just want to buy a computer he doesn't necessarily plan on upgrading anytime soon.

Just let him be. Clearly he has no clue. Let him buy a rig with 4GB of RAM just so he can struggle through it and upgrade to 2TB later...

The rest of us are busy building systems that actually meet people's current needs and will last a reasonable amount of time.🙂

fadedorca66, honestly—it’s just not worth your energy to even get into an argument with people like that 😉

This kind of rhetoric reminds me a bit of how Etralknight used to talk, back before they vanished from the forum about four months ago... 😬

I get that people are just trying to be helpful—and I appreciate the sentiment—but it honestly gets on my nerves sometimes when someone claims they can guarantee a component will stay reliable for a specific amount of time. It’s like, do you have a crystal ball or something?

I didn't say he had to take my exact configuration. I just meant he should take a look at it once he decides if he actually wants to upgrade, just to see if it fits his needs. If not, he can totally go with any of your other suggestions. I don't get why, if someone happens to have a different perspective than everyone else here, they're immediately labeled as an idiot. Honestly, who does this person think they're reminding me of? I don't even want to bother commenting on it.

Is it just too obvious to even bother commenting on? 😍

What on earth are you talking about? 😵 What can I even say to such ridiculous comments, suggesting that I am somehow that Etralknight guy? 🙂🙂
