I was wondering if anyone here actually has some tips or tricks when it comes to playing video poker...
Does anyone know any ways to actually double your money?
Like, how does the whole thing even work under the hood...
Honestly, anything you guys could throw my way would be a lifesaver...

The setup is rigged... the owner walks away with 70% of the profit while some lucky guy snatches the other 30% right out from under you. Just watch out for that 👍

Look, you really think casino owners are that clueless? You think they’d just let some random person walk up and use "tricks" to clean them out? No way. These machines are rigged from the ground up specifically to make sure players don't walk away with anything substantial.

Word on the street is players only see about 30% back—I've heard even less—so I seriously doubt there’s any secret hack to fool the machine. These machines have been around for decades. Manufacturers and owners aren't going to let their hardware be vulnerable to some amateur's little scheme after all this time.

The house makes its bank off the suckers who actually believe there's a shortcut or some magic trick to beat the system.

In those slot machines, there’s essentially this one "scale" they use... When the house sets the payout probability to something high, say around 80%, then the casual players jump in and hit $33—it's wild—and then the owners just flip the switch to drop the win probability back down to 10%, so all that money the players put in gets sucked right back into the machine and becomes $17 while they walk away with absolutely nothing...
SO EVERYTHING REALLY JUST HINGES ON THAT PROBABILITY SCALE

Good grief, you kids... 😁 you really have no idea what you're playing with. Back when I was working at this little diner, my boss used to spend hours around lunchtime trying to lure the local teenagers in. They all walked in thinking he was running some high-stakes game with hundreds of dollars on the line, but in reality, he was playing for pennies. 😁 Then they’d come up to me, acting all suspicious because they heard he was gambling—like it was some big deal. 🥳 It was nothing more than $6.75 change, but they never could see through the act. 🤣

Nah, it’s totally legal to tip over 80%—I think there was an old thread about it somewhere. Though, most dive bars around here barely even hit 15%.

There isn't some secret trick... they usually set things up with a 70-30 or 60-40 edge. The only thing you really have to watch out for is someone dumping a massive amount of cash right before you, just so you end up catching the fallout after them. But honestly? The house always wins. Even when everything is totally transparent, like at a blackjack table or a roulette wheel in Vegas... so imagine how it goes when everything is rigged from the jump.
