What happened?

Look, my actual username on this forum is jaa, but I can't even get past the login screen. To make matters worse, there’s a message sitting right above my avatar that says: Hacked by: Someone from *****a

What the hell happened?

Maybe someone just hacked him 🤷

Look, if they haven't swapped out the email address yet, just click here, type in the original email you used to sign up, and it should let you reset your password without any drama.

Dammit, I went ahead and deleted the email address I used to set up this profile...

Can I at least request a full account deletion? I want this idiot gone so he isn't cluttering up the forum with nonsense under my name.

Just shoot a DM to the admin (Sophia Castillo35) and ask her to verify your IP address. That way, she'll be able to confirm it's actually you.

Most people have dynamic IPs anyway. You connect, disconnect, reconnect—boom—you've got two different addresses. My ISP might assign me a new one in a month, but that doesn't make me the owner of someone else's account. 😉

That might be how this specific forum works, but on other sites, your IP address stays locked in.😉
I know because I check it all the time.
And yeah, it's true that a user can change their own IP, but they're using software to do it.
