Hi there, I'm looking for some specific advice on what hardware I actually need to pick up to pull this off:
I'm hunting for a device that can pick up my home Wi-Fi signal and then pass that connection through an Ethernet port—basically, I want to bridge a wireless signal to a wired connection for another piece of gear.
To be more precise, I have a satellite receiver that needs to get onto my home network, but it only has a LAN port. Since I can't exactly run a long Ethernet cable across the house to where it’s sitting, I need to connect it via Wi-Fi. And since the receiver doesn't have a USB port, a simple Wi-Fi dongle isn't an option...
So, in short, I need something that acts as a wireless client—something that catches the Wi-Fi and hands it off to a wired device.
What kind of gear should I be searching for?
