Identity crisis / Reinventing myself

I am not entirely certain if this topic has been covered before, though it likely has. I suppose I could use some assistance.
A few days ago, I registered for an account using a new username and a fresh email address.
The only thing that remained unchanged was my password; since I have a tendency to forget them, I tend to use the exact same password for nearly every profile and email account I maintain online.🙂

And now...
After logging out, I attempted to return to Reddit the following day using my new username, yet I am persistently met with errors stating that either the username or the password is incorrect, along with an option to reset the password. I believe I have gone through the reset process perhaps twenty-seven times by now, but regardless of which new password I input, the result remains identical—it claims the credentials are wrong. Naturally, after entering them incorrectly five times, the administrator blocks my access, necessitating a waiting period.

I am somewhat at a loss as to how to proceed. I receive the email containing the login credentials, but when I attempt to enter them into the login field, I am simply not permitted to proceed.

I decided to register under a different username because I have my reasons for wanting a new handle... I am not entirely sure where things went wrong; I received the activation email and followed the link, then managed to successfully publish a post using that second name. Now, I suppose I am regretting logging out, as I can no longer seem to sign in under that specific username, though I cannot quite pinpoint why. I am not asking for this profile to be deleted—it can stay, if anything, just to be safe.

Double-check that nothing got scrambled on your end. Just make sure you're entering the right username and password. I'm not entirely certain if it'll work, but maybe try logging in by clicking that link in the activation email once more; you should be able to get through that way.

I have already attempted that. I used the activation link, yet it insists the information was entered incorrectly. I am quite unsure what else remains to be done.

You mean the administrators. 🙂 It’s like trying to fix a broken sink by calling the landlord when the pipes themselves are clearly burst; if everyone else can get through the front door and she's stuck outside, the issue isn't with the house, it's with her key.

I’m not quite sure how things work around here—maybe we should stick to lowercase instead of all caps? 🤷
