Cotton vs. Polyester: Which is better?

Hello. Last week, I had three stitches in my knee. I decided not to return to the doctor, so I removed the sutures myself. Half of one suture remains inside my body. I need to know if this is dangerous or if it can remain there indefinitely. Is there a risk of infection or similar complications? The external tissue has healed, so I took matters into my own hands and removed the threads. 😁 If there is a danger, what is it, and would it be visible from the surface?

Super smart move there—taking matters into your own hands and now you’re feeling the panic. Totally normal that a doctor—PRO —is the one who handles removing stitches, not you! If there's still a little piece of thread stuck in the

wound, it just means it hasn't HEALED UP ENOUGH yet. Seriously, stop playing doctor and just head back to the clinic before things get messy. How old are you, ten?

Messing around with procedures right on or near the joints carries a massive risk for complications—and I mean the really scary kind. Just the other day, we had to deal with someone acting just as smart as you, where we ended up having to radically reopen a wound, flush it out heavily with alcohol, and eventually set in two vacuum drains. Honestly, who knows what’s going to happen to that joint now, all because the guy decided to go poking at it with his bare hands and picking at his scabs.
So, I'm genuinely curious to see if you end up needing something similar. It's looking likely, though I'm really hoping it won't get to the point where amputation is the only option left.

The external appearance is a 5 out of 10. The wound has healed, which is why I attempted removal. I could not extract the suture because I had cut it on both sides. It appears fine. I have full range of motion in my knee without pain. I am wondering if there are specific external signs indicating an underlying issue. Everything was sterile during the process. I used alcohol during removal and applied it to the wound afterward.

Man, listen... the first red flag that things are going south is whenever someone tells you "it looks fine" or says there shouldn't be any issues with a wound.
That’s an immediate warning sign for me!!!😱...I really hope you went ahead and grabbed a tetanus shot already, just to be safe.
