Why?
Why is there a Black man hanging from a tree? Honestly, why not?

Who knows. It’s been too long, too creepy, too confusing—but really, it’s just too simple, too explosive, too clever, and way too unnecessary.
And just the day before that, I caught that great Morel flick.

At its core, this movie is really just a drama.
It’s set within this incredibly gritty, realistic world of espionage and global terrorism.
And honestly? As a drama, it hits the mark.

I mean, you really have to expect more when R. Scott is at the helm. For me, this was just okay... nothing special.
The movie just lacks focus, honestly. It jumps from one corner of the globe to the next without warning, and the side characters? There's basically zero characterization there. Everything feels so cluttered and rushed...
It’s almost like the whole thing was directed by some rookie who used to shoot MTV music videos and decided to try his hand at feature films.
But still, it isn't a disaster; I can't say it was bad, per se. You can sort of sense an "invisible hand" at work somewhere, though it’s not Adam Smith’s hand, it’s definitely R. Scott's...
To be honest, I forgot about the movie the very second I walked out of the theater.
6/10

Btw, I'm not much of a fan of di Capri, if I'm being blunt. And even after this role, I'm still not feeling it.

Just watched it. It didn't exactly blow my mind. 🙂 I definitely expected more from Ridley. It’s not even about the cast—it’s just poor execution or a weak script. Maybe there's a Director's cut coming down the line to fix some of this mess.

That said, Mark Strong as Hani was a standout. What an expression! The kind of charisma you just don't see in movies much anymore! 🙏 🙏 I’d never even heard of him before, and now he's absolutely killing it in Rock'nRoll. 🙏 Huge props to him for Hani; he's got serious presence!

Leo and Russel did a decent enough job.

To me, Syriana remains the best thriller dealing with the Middle East.

The movie was alright, but nothing special. I might give it another shot once my schedule clears up—maybe it’ll actually click then...😕
The absolute highlight of the whole thing is when Guns N' Roses kicks in during the credits, right as the letters 🙏 start rolling

So I watched it yesterday. Look, it’s a decent enough movie, but calling it some mind-blowing masterpiece? Definitely not.
I was honestly expecting a much wilder ride—something where the ending leaves you sitting there like, "Holy crap, I didn't see that coming..." but nope. It just follows that same tired formula where >everyone is just screwing over everyone else< without any real tension or actual surprises.
And man, DiCaprio... what were they thinking? Having him play some undercover CIA agent speaking Arabic as the main guy in the desert is just... yeah. 🙄
With *The Departed*, the whole thing was saved because he got absolutely hammered halfway through, otherwise it would've been a total snooze fest. But this? Lol, even worse. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against the guy, but damn, they really botched this role.

The movie was just okay, honestly. It’s kind of wild how the quality just tanks after the first thirty minutes, because for a hot second there, I actually thought I was watching a total masterpiece.
