How has Reddit helped you out in your life?

I trust I have placed this thread in the appropriate section this time around....

I am curious to hear your experiences: how has Reddit impacted your life? Perhaps it facilitated a career change, a new romance, the purchase of home furnishings, or even helped you track down the perfect pet. Maybe you received a piece of advice that proved invaluable, located a reliable vehicle, discovered a hidden facet of your own personality, or realized that a contractor was trying to pull a fast one on you...

Or, conversely, has it been detrimental? Have relationships or marriages crumbled because of it? Have you engaged in bitter disputes, gained lifelong enemies, or perhaps gone out drinking with other Redditors only to end up in the emergency room...

I think it actually did some damage... my eyesight is getting worse just from spending all this time on Reddit 🤣🤣

He helped me realize what that "www" actually stands for and that a domain doesn't have to be tied to a specific country code like .us to work.

It served its purpose... mostly just killing time while I messed around... 🙂

Reddit’s been a huge help for me 😁

Like, whenever someone tries to lecture me, I just tell them to go jump in a lake... you just can't learn that kind of etiquette on the street ☕

It’s basically just a place for messing around and all that nonsense 🙏
People type way faster there and there are plenty of cool folks to hang out with 🙂

OT:

Reddit has really helped me form a clear picture of the average American. Because if the people on here—who actually know how to navigate the internet—are any indication of what's out there, then what does that say about those who are... well, perhaps a bit less bright?

Oh yeah... Same here. I can actually type pretty fast now... And I get plenty of practice arguing... Sometimes maybe a little too much practice.

I get it, really. I don't see much point in using overly formal or flowery language if there's no real reason to do so. Sometimes you just want to speak plainly, right? It feels a bit forced when you try too hard to sound "literary" in a casual setting. Just keeping things straightforward works better for me most of the time. 🙂
I’m just trying to stay as far away from everyone as I possibly can. Honestly, if there's any way to dodge a crowd or skip out on a social obligation, that's exactly what I'm doing. Just keeping my distance whenever it's an option. 🤷

I helped because I felt like I was actually connecting with people😍, but instead, I just ended up creating an addiction and ruining my eyesight... and honestly, it went 🙂
