I'm looking for some advice on dealing with this illness and finding the right treatment plan.
Right now, I'm taking 25 mg doses of Nozinan, but honestly, I just feel incredibly weak and drained.
I have absolutely zero energy or motivation for anything at all.
Thanks

Honestly, I don't think you're going to find any real guidance on here when it comes to an F-22 diagnosis. If you're feeling like your current treatment isn't hitting the mark, just go talk to your specialist—the one actually managing your care. I really believe they know their stuff and can figure out the right path, whether that means tweaking your dosage, switching up your medication entirely, or maybe even just sitting down for a good long talk about how you're feeling... just give them a fair shot.

I don't think anyone starting a thread really needs a dry, clinical breakdown of a condition they’re already living through. Honestly, I suspect we’d all find more value in sharing our actual experiences—talking about how therapy is going, managing the progression of the illness, and things like that.
So, I'm editing my post, purely for that reason and nothing else.🙂

Right now I'm on 25 mg doses of Zyprexa—it leaves me feeling incredibly weak and completely helpless.
I just don't have the energy or the drive for anything anymore.
Thanks.

Besides the lack of willpower and energy, what other symptoms are you dealing with?

I’m dealing with the exact same condition myself. I was wondering, is it okay if I smoke weed or have a few drinks while managing this? (f F-22,9)

You can do whatever you want.
But once you screw up by swapping an F-22 for an F-41 or some other disaster, you’re gonna be sitting there wondering where the hell your brain went.

Wait, I'm lost here. Can someone explain what they mean by going from an F-22 to an F-41 or higher? If this is actually an issue, can we take it to DMs?

Thank you.

It takes time, too.
Don't forget that part—medication might offer immediate relief in the moment, but true recovery? That takes time.
So, please, give yourself permission to feel weak and unmotivated. Set tiny, manageable goals for yourself, like maybe just walking for five minutes every day.
Try to remember that you aren't going through this for no reason; you've been through something significant, and now you're in the process of healing.
Take it slow.

The thing is, no matter how "small" a problem seems at first, if you don't deal with it right away, it’s almost guaranteed to snowball.
Honestly, just feeling down can spiral into full-blown depression if you let it take over, and one mental health struggle can easily be swapped out for something way heavier if you aren't tracking it and trying to fix things...

Anxiety—like, general clinical anxiety—is so widespread these days that pretty much everyone deals with it in some way. And if you're already dealing with any kind of disorder, you're basically sitting ducks for picking up more stress on top of it.

Look, if you aren't going to look out for your own health, nobody else is going to do it for you. If you're coming here asking if it's okay to keep drinking or smoking, I’m pretty sure you’d only actually want our opinion if we told you "Yeah, go for it."

If you want to drink, fine. If you want to smoke, whatever. Just be ready for the fallout when it hits.

I mean, seriously, basic sadness can turn into full-blown depression if you're the type of person who just lets it swallow you whole. And one mental health issue can easily be "swapped out" for something even more intense if you aren't actually monitoring your state and trying to fix things...

Anxiety is so freaking widespread these days that practically everyone deals with some version of it... and if someone already has any kind of disorder, they've basically got a front-row seat to catching it too!

Look, if you aren't going to look out for your own health, nobody else is going to do it for you. If you're coming on here asking if it's okay to keep drinking and smoking, I'm pretty damn sure you'd only actually want to hear it if we gave you a green light.

If you want to drink, fine; if you want to smoke, go ahead; but don't come crying when the consequences hit you in the face.

👋

Alright, thanks a lot.🙂

I’m taking 5mg of Normabel at night and 2.5mg of Moditen at night. Why shouldn't I mix alcohol with these? And what about weed?

It’s honestly people asking questions like this that make me wonder why there isn't enough space in our hospitals for people who actually need a bed and real medical help. Seriously, you aren't supposed to touch alcohol with this stuff, let alone drugs.

Yeah, unfortunately you hit the nail on the head... if everyone who just messed up through their own stupidity would just get out of the way, maybe we’d finally see some progress for the people who actually take their treatment seriously!

Yeah, unfortunately you're spot on... if we could just clear out everyone who keeps messing up their own lives from the system, maybe then people who actually take their recovery seriously!

Sadly, I am right, because I've lived through it myself. Look, I don't want to be the bad guy here—I have zero problem with anyone who actually wants to kick their alcohol or drug addiction—but those people who just refuse to change? Honestly, when you combine an F-22 habit with booze and weed, there’s just no room left in any hospital bed or any way to get help. There's simply no space. 🙂
I totally get where dawn999 is coming from.🙂

Yeah, I’ve been through that diagnosis too. I was on Zyprexa and Norvasc, but the side effects were brutal, so my doctor switched me over to Lipitor 100 mg and Norvasc 5 mg. If you're feeling weak, it could be the medication reacting with you, though it depends on how long you've been on it. With the Zyprexa, I ended up stuck in a hospital bed just sleeping. I needed a long break from everything.

Don't mix alcohol with your meds. A glass of wine here or there won't kill you, but getting drunk is out of the question. As for weed—your brain is already dealing with elevated dopamine levels, which is why you're on these pills. Smoking increases that dopamine even further. You'll end up in a psych ward with delusions or worse. Honestly, if you used weed in the past, you might already be dealing with the fallout.

F-22 involves reactive psychoses or things that are more short-term... I actually live abroad, and they have me on Cisordinol (an antipsychotic) for both my first and second diagnoses. The second one is definitely heavier, so they bumped my dose from 6mg up to 14mg. As needed, I’ve used Nozinan anywhere from 5 to 25 mg just to try and get some sleep—though, truth be told, sometimes it doesn't help one bit. This whole thing developed from post-traumatic stress and later turned into Bipolar F31.9. It doesn't necessarily mean that's where you're headed, but it’s a tough road to walk. You probably should have stayed on Zyprexa... it would've saved you from having to cycle through different sleep meds. Good luck, really. I hope it works out like it did for others, where after a year or two of medication, you're totally back to yourself. These things usually crop up after some rough events or trauma—just a hard, exhausting life... we had plenty of that back in the nineties.

One way you might end up with this issue is through mixing weed and alcohol... I really hope you're joking about that part, because it can manifest in all sorts of ways, including visual hallucinations. It's often labeled as hysterical psychosis, and honestly, even when you're struggling, you're expected to just function like everyone else in the family. No one gives you any special treatment or extra respect just because you're sick, and let me tell you, the criteria for getting any kind of disability benefits from Social Security are incredibly high. You need more than just a diagnosis to qualify... I went through this back when I was twenty-four, and I didn't even hit retirement until four years ago.
