To be more precise, I’m looking for a specific product recommendation since I don't know the technical terminology. I need something containing benzoyl peroxide for facial cleansing. I've realized that DermaClear works wonders for me, but the packaging is tiny. I have no desire to make constant trips to my dermatologist just to get a prescription for it. I'd rather buy something in bulk. I assume local pharmacies might even compound their own versions, though it doesn't have to be that. Ideally, I want something available over the counter.

p.s. If I recall correctly, DermaClear is around 4% BP, and now I'm interested in products with a higher concentration.

thanks 😉

Exactly what you described is precisely what's needed, just as you noted. There is a topical cream known as PanOxyl that comes in two different strengths. You might be able to have it shipped to you through a specialized online pharmacy. I would strongly advise against using it too frequently or applying it too liberally, as it can be quite harsh on the skin; please don't ask me for the specific physiological reasons or the "how" behind that, but that is simply what my doctor told me. Use it sparingly and don't let it become a long-term habit.

Since I don't know all the medical jargon, I just know I need something with benzoyl peroxide (for my face, obviously). I realized that DermaClear works wonders for me, but the bottles are tiny! I honestly don't want to have to run back to my dermatologist every two weeks just for a prescription. I'd love to find something in a larger size—I'm assuming local pharmacies might even make their own versions. Or maybe they don't. Also, ideally, it wouldn't require a prescription.

p.s. If I remember right, DermaClear is about 4% BP, and now I'm actually curious about trying something with a slightly higher percentage.

thanks! 😉

Just ask exactly like you described. The pharmacists at CVS won't bite! 🙂
