🤮 Every time someone brings up Placebo, I have to ask: what is the big deal with them? Personally, I can't stand them. To me, they're just a band for 15-year-old girls.

I'm with you there. Even though I personally would love to catch their sets, I think they'd pull a massive crowd simply because they've been everywhere lately..
The whole thing wouldn't be quite what it is without them.

I'm not saying anything about Muse or Placebo.

I was just trying to point out that Muse from three years ago isn't the same band they are today.

It's the same way Massive Attack in Washington, D.C. back in 2002 wasn't the same Massive Attack in Washington, D.C. in 2009. Attendance numbers shift over time, get it?

Everyone has their own taste. But the real issue is that the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival organizers haven't shown any actual vision so far.

Last year's lineup was killer.

This year—so far—is a total fail, IF YOU ASK ME.

Billie Eilish is fine and the girl has hits. But overall—it's bad, just bad... Luckily, outside of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, we've got Skunk Anansie, Megadeth, and probably Alice in Chains coming to town too, so the season is saved. But this lineup? Not promising at all.

Still waiting on the real headliners. I just hope they don't screw it up with The Chemical Brothers too.

I can't say for sure if they have a master plan or anything, but personally, I am loving it! It’s almost like they were reading my mind when they put this together! 😁I missed out on seeing Massive Attack, and oh man, I am gutted about that!!! There are a few other decent acts on there, and now we've got The Flaming Lips too... and I actually had a little daydream about catching them in concert just the other day! 😍

So, yeah, let's just stick with that "to each their own" sentiment.

Does anyone happen to know if there are any tickets left from that student quota?

What kind of vision are we even talking about if we want to please everyone? The lineup needs to offer something for everybody. The whole idea is that people show up for one or two big headliners, and everything else is just a bonus.

I couldn't agree more; if they announce their lineup, I am buying a ticket immediately. Even if my entire crew decides to sit this one out, I will simply go by myself—it truly doesn't matter.
After all, haven't I been waiting to see The Chemical Brothers since I was just a kid? They were quite literally the very first group I ever took seriously...

I mean, here comes a second person claiming this is basically the best festival in the country, or at least the best one we've seen in ages, just showering the whole thing in endless praise. I honestly don't get it, I really don't.
To me, it's nowhere near being the best. Not even close.

The Flaming Lips... I don't really listen to them, but okay, they aren't terrible, I guess. So there, let me throw in my own little bit of 😁

I'd drive all the way to Austin or anywhere within a day's drive just to catch Flaming Lips or Broken Social Scene on their own... they absolutely kill it live... LCD Soundsystem is on my radar too, curious how they sound in person... seen Massive Attack before, but maybe again... missed Flogging Molly, heard they were worth the trip...
Billy Idol was cool back in the day, but man, every single festival has to dig up some relic from the mothballs...
Rise Against is the only one that doesn't feel totally mid or overrated...

All things considered, it's a solid lineup so far. For the $83 I dropped on a ticket, it's actually a pretty good deal...

But hey, that's just me. Totally get it if none of these bands mean anything to you... 🙂
