How can you tell if someone actually put you on ignore? I've been sending PMs to this one person and getting nothing back. Is it an ignore or are they just ghosting?

Can you shoot that person a PM? That is, assuming you haven't already added them to your block list... 😁

It’s about as easy to find out as a ghost in a machine, because if you send a DM to someone who has you on their ignore list, the message simply vanishes into the void without them ever seeing it.🙂

I guess

They will, they'll still get it, it just looks a bit different in their inbox...

and then they can decide whether they want to read it or not, and you'll have no clue.😛

The only thing I don't get is what they mean by "follow message."😕

and then they can decide whether to read it or let it sit there, leaving you completely in the dark 😛

I'm just not quite sure what they mean by "follow the message" 😕

In my experience, they likely won't get it; I run an American forum using the exact same vBulletin version (3.6.8.), and when I put a user on ignore and asked them to send me a DM, nothing ever arrived. That said, it's entirely possible this specific site is configured differently, which would make what you described actually happen.😉

I gave this a shot just to see how it works, which is why I mentioned 😉
.
It feels a bit disconnected, almost like a notification letting you know something arrived, though I can't quite put my finger on it. Honestly, the best part for me is being able to actually read the content... though now I’m second-guessing myself 🤔.... do you actually have to unblock someone from your "ignore" list just to view their message, or not? 🤷
Basically, the message hits your inbox and then you decide if it's worth your time
. I assume it functions pretty much like those posts from people on your block list, but I haven't really bothered to dig into that side of things 😛

It feels somewhat detached, almost like receiving a notification that something arrived without actually seeing the content—sort of like getting a FedEx alert but not knowing if you even want to open the box. My favorite part is having the option to read it first... though I can't quite recall 🤔.... whether you have to unblock someone from your "ignore" list just to view their message or not... 🤷
Essentially, the message lands in your lap, and then you decide what to make of it.
It probably functions much like viewing posts from people on an ignore list, but I haven't really delved into those settings myself.😛

Well, if you've tested it out, then that's that. Since I haven't put anyone on ignore on this forum yet, I couldn't say for sure. It seems that's just how the AP is configured. 🙂

vividfalcon14 said:Well, if you already tried it, then fine! I haven't actually used the ignore feature on this forum yet, so I can't say for sure. It seems like that's just how the AP is set up. 🙂

Actually, scratch that, it's not okay... I just gave it another shot and it turns out it won't work
I have no idea, I probably messed something up the first time, though honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it's just the forum acting up again 😁

Sandra Parker3 said:Actually, my bad—I have to take that back. I just gave it another shot and it turns out it won't accept
it. I probably just bungled it the first time, though it wouldn't be surprising if the site itself was acting up again.😁

There you go. This site is a bit of an enigma. It feels like three digital ghosts are haunting a single decent user who’s just trying to pass along messages.🤣 😁

It just occurred to me... where do those undelivered messages actually go? 😕

I mean, you know... when someone’s inbox is totally maxed out or their account gets banned, the system gives you a clear error saying the message couldn't be sent. But this 🤷 is honestly pretty weird if you really think about it 😁
