Does anyone actually know how long meds stay good after they hit their expiration date??
In my head, I’m thinking they’re probably still totally fine for at least another six months once the date passes..
Anyway.. I was digging through my junk drawer and found some old Levithre tablets that expired back in February, and honestly, I feel kind of guilty just tossing them in the trash 🤣
So if anyone knows something I don't... thanks in advance 😉

Once a medication hits its expiration date, just take it back to the pharmacy. Don't just toss it in the trash. It’s not some arbitrary rule meant to annoy you; there's actual science behind it. For certain drugs, the active ingredients start to degrade, making them useless, while in others, they can actually break down into nasty, toxic byproducts. Either way, you're taking a gamble you don't need to take.

Look, it’s not some "one size fits all" situation with meds. Some stuff stays good, some doesn't. Honestly, if you've got something that's been sitting in a cool, dark spot—like a basement pantry or a dedicated medicine cabinet—and it's still in its original, factory-sealed packaging, it might be perfectly fine even five years past the expiration date. A huge chunk of medications can actually still be used after their label expires. But here’s the kicker: nobody is going to tell you that officially. Doctors and pharmacists won't touch that subject because they have to play by the book. Just do me a favor and don't toss old pills in the trash; find one of those pharmacy drop-off bins at a CVS or Walgreens instead.

So, I was digging through my medicine cabinet and found some Tylenol where there’s absolutely nothing printed regarding an expiration date. Like, zero info—no year, no month, no nothing written where the expiration should be. I already went ahead and popped one, so now I'm kind of spiraling... what's the deal when there's no date on the packaging at all? Is this going to be a problem?

Nothing, other than the possibility that it won't actually work.
