Good afternoon.

I’m joining the conversation here.

I have a question based on a recent experience. I'm looking for an answer from a professional who might be following this forum.

If you are rushed to the ER due to a significant decline in health, is it standard procedure to wait for bloodwork results before a diagnosis is made—specifically, waiting a full hour and a half?

Regards,
Kruška

It really depends on what kind of searches we’re talking about, I suppose... certain queries might require a significantly longer processing time than others.
Greetings.

Like what, for instance?

I suppose I shouldn't presume to be some sort of medical authority on the matter, though I have observed that biochemical panels tend to linger in the system much longer than one might care to wait. In my own experience at the clinic, I found myself idling for perhaps a few minutes while waiting on my urinalysis, whereas the hematology results seemed to take closer to twenty minutes or so, if my memory serves me correctly.

Fine, but ninety minutes??
And for someone losing consciousness, feeling faint, and all that?

It doesn't add up.
