What's trending in music right now?

Unfortunately, it's just all that mainstream pop music. Everywhere I turn, I hear it, and there are way too many people following the hype. I can't think of a single decent track (thank God)... but I've heard enough to know it's just not my style.

I know pop music is everywhere these days, but I actually went to college—so I’m more into listening to folk legends or maybe some classic rock. I don't really relate to those uncultured types, though I guess I do get a little nervous walking alone at night, worrying some idiot blasting Kim Kardashian from their car might throw mud at me. It seems like people who listen to that stuff are usually prone to that kind of nonsense.

People in St. Louis have completely lost their minds... I just saw a flyer for some massive country music festival happening in Millennium Park and I honestly couldn't believe my eyes 🤮🤮🤮
I mean, New York is hosting Judas Priest and Iron Maiden together, yet here we are in St. Louis with nothing but country music 🙂🙂🙈🙈🙈

It's actually the first time in my life I've ever seen the word "shadow" used like that—it looks pretty strange.

Alright, let me make amends for my last two posts where I drifted a bit off-topic. I’ll say it again—I don't get the sense that country music is actually the big trend right now. What really gets under my skin are these neo-Britpop "punk" bands they keep pushing... you can't even tell who the frontman is, or the lead guitarist, or whatever else—you know, that guy who looks like he's trying too hard to be a model. It's a total sea of sameness, and honestly, you can't tell one band from the next. Every single song starts with the exact same riff and everyone is just riding the coattails of some manufactured celebrity. I couldn't care less about any of them. I'd much rather be bored by Kelly Clarkson.
The only silver lining to this whole wave of five-piece indie acts is that you finally realize bands like Oasis or Blur—and Jarvis and his crew—were actually one of a kind.

Just turned on MTV and they’re playing Arctic Monkeys... what a disaster.
