How do you beat a 4-4-2 formation?

So, I’ve been chewing on this one for a bit, and I’m curious to see what you guys think about tactical setups. If I'm facing a powerhouse team running a classic 4-4-2—and I mean a real strike duo playing side-by-side, not staggered—what’s actually going to work? As the underdog, what formation should I be looking at to stay competitive? I need some insight from the actual tactical geniuses here... help a guy out... haha. In my head, I’ve been visualizing a 5-3-2, and honestly, it doesn't look half bad on the pitch... (keep in mind, this is just for an online manager game) 😁
