can someone please tell me where would be a good spot to head for New Year's? I'm looking for somewhere with plenty of bars and nightlife but without breaking the bank, maybe something under $133 to celebrate New Year's

Every year, I make it a point to ring in the New Year somewhere else... honestly, I've had quite enough of the festivities here in Washington, D.C. It always seems to turn into some celebration that feels—well, let's be honest—hardly distinguishable from just a mediocre night out at a bar or a house party. And I’ve been feeling that way for quite a while now. Instead, I prefer to set aside roughly 1,000-$667 (covering everything) to head to a major city elsewhere; every single trip feels like a little graduation celebration for me. Of course, you really need to have the right group of people with you...

In case anyone is actually looking for recommendations, the agency www.expedia.com has the widest selection of New Year's Eve packages across the States. They aren't exactly flawless—they tend to drop the ball occasionally (mostly when it comes to those optional side excursions)—but they are certainly budget-friendly and, as far as I can tell, they offer the most variety for those cheap destinations... :-)
