Everything regarding the actual numbers seems clear now, but doesn't this just open up a whole new set of questions?

The admins at > moved our main thread out of the archive and dropped it into >, which resulted in me losing over 600 posts; wouldn't it have been much more logical to ensure our post count remained intact from when it was its own subforum? Or perhaps, should they not have moved it at all? Wouldn't the most sensible solution be to simply move this entire section to the archive so everyone's post counts are restored, allowing us to just start a fresh, independent thread over on > instead?

But why is it that some sites make such a big deal out of counting posts—like they do over at Mad House—while others just don't care, like it's the case here at the WOW Forum? 😉

Someone apparently decided that certain subforums have fewer meaningful or constructive posts than others, so they opted out of the count over at 🤷

Yesterday my post count was sitting at nearly 280—today, it’s plummeted to 211! What happened? It just dropped out of nowhere. I went to check my profile, and I noticed that every single one of my posts from that *On the Edge of Science* thread—posts from about a year ago—are completely gone. Why aren't they being counted anymore?

The thread you were talking about probably got nuked by the mods 🤷

I mean—wouldn't it be easier to just shoot a DM over to the subforum moderator instead of sitting there deciding that you're short on posts?

You can't just toggle the count on one THREAD and then turn it off for another. It’s only possible within the subforums. 😉

If so, then I would kindly ask that the thread be moved to the archives, and perhaps we could actually have our post counts visible—or at least have them show up on the sub-forums! 😁
