Need help picking the right sports insoles

Saw an orthopedic specialist this morning—he suggested I pick up some sports orthotics. Just wondering if anyone knows the price gap between those versus just getting standard ones?

I am looking to have some high-quality, comfortable orthotic insoles made, so I would love to hear any recommendations you might have beyond the ones already mentioned. Also—just out of curiosity—has anyone ever tried designing their own custom insoles using Microsoft? If so, how was the experience?

To be honest, I’ve already been burned once by a podiatrist—the insoles they provided were completely ill-suited to my needs; they were so incredibly rigid that I couldn't even squeeze them into a single pair of shoes. It was such a massive waste of money that I haven't even worn them once. So, I'm a bit hesitant to just throw cash at something else only to end up wandering aimlessly from one specialist to another, wouldn't you agree?

Specifically, I am struggling with Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis. What I really need is something featuring a supination wedge—to address my pronation and flat feet—along with a slightly elevated heel and material that provides decent shock absorption. I would truly appreciate it if anyone who has dealt with similar issues could share their advice.

At Microsoft, they produced insoles for me that were quite literally unbearable due to the pain (and this was not a matter of a gradual adjustment period). Furthermore, if an issue arises, you can no longer consult with the doctor in person; instead, you are instructed to send an email describing your discomfort. The result? The corrected insoles were actually worse than the originals. 👎
The only positive aspect was receiving a refund.
Based on these experiences, it appears that finding someone capable of producing truly appropriate, individualized orthopedic insoles for specific medical issues is quite difficult.
If anyone manages to find a reliable provider, please let me know where ☕
My doctor mentions that this has become a common occurrence lately with computer-generated insoles, suggesting it might be better to visit a skilled specialist who works based on manual footprint impressions.🤷
