If they had somehow managed to pull off a different result, I suspect Formula 1 would have basically fallen apart as a competitive sport. To be fair, I was pulling for Lewis Hamilton, but I just didn't want to see Fernando Alonso take the championship either. It just feels like Ron Dennis can't quite stomach the reality that he essentially became the biggest loser in history, not just in Formula 1, but in all of sports, simply due to his own poor judgment. My take on the whole thing is that while a team has to pick a number one driver—and I personally thought that should have been Lewis Hamilton, though I wouldn't have minded if it were Fernando Alonso—there still needs to be some sense of order. When you lose that structure, everything descends into chaos, and instead of having a top-tier team like Ferrari, you end up with the Los Angeles Lakers.😁
