I’ve got a pretty deep-seated distrust of modern medicine—specifically doctors who just hand out prescriptions like candy without actually looking at the big picture. Speaking from experience, though... my whole family has dealt with this.

Basically, I’m with you 👍, but there are exceptions.
My brother’s dealing with sky-high blood pressure, and he’s incredibly young. He’s done everything by the book—dropped every extra pound (even though he was never overweight to begin with), stays active, avoids caffeine and salt entirely—but he’s still stuck on meds. They’ve ruled out all the usual suspects, like kidney issues or whatever else. Honestly? The docs just don't have a clue why his pressure is spiking like that.
Until they figure out what's actually pulling the trigger, he’s gotta stay on the pills.

People deal with health issues for a million reasons—it’s not just about eating the "wrong" stuff or overindulging
claims like that are pretty damn arrogant

So go ahead—run out and buy the biggest candle you can find, then go burn it on your doorstep as a little thank-you note since you solved all your problems so easily

I'm with them on this one👍
Stay lucky 🙂

If nobody in your family has ever dealt with cancer, does that mean you're less likely to get it? Like, if my Mom, Dad, or baba Deda never had anything, how does that work with genetics?

With certain types of cancer, having a family history definitely bumps up your risk. For example, if a sister or mother has breast cancer, or if someone has colon cancer—where your risk can jump 2 to 4 times depending on how old they were when diagnosed—it’s much higher if it’s a first-degree relative. The reverse is also true.
