So, let me walk you through my specific situation:
My period started on September 16th. Right before it hits, my breasts get all swollen and, I don't know, just really sore and sensitive.
That usually lasts for maybe two days while I'm actually bleeding, and then it finally settles down.
The whole thing lasts about six days, so it wraps up around the 21st.
But then, by October 2nd, they’re already starting to ache and swell up again.

I mean, I totally get that these symptoms are normal, but it's kind of throwing me off because my girlfriends tell me they only feel this way a few days or maybe a week before their period starts. For me, it feels like it's happening up to two weeks before I even see blood!

It typically kicks in right around ovulation and just keeps going from there. Honestly, everything is almost certainly fine—like, 99.99% fine—so please, try not to stress! It probably isn't some grand, mysterious set of "symptoms" (you know... the dreaded sssssssymptoooooommmms). It sounds more like cyclical mastalgia. Perhaps your hormones are acting a little finicky, or maybe there are some small cysts involved? But it doesn't have to be anything serious. For instance, I don't deal with this at all, yet I still feel a bit of discomfort starting from ovulation onwards—it is truly remarkable how such a tiny sensation can actually hurt so much, isn't it? 😢

It looks something like 😉:

Ugh, honestly, they just ache. It’s not even a sharp pain, it’s more like they get so swollen that I can't even sleep on my stomach or wear a decent bra without feeling uncomfortable... and my skin feels so tight—I'm constantly dealing with new stretch marks appearing 😠 plus being a D/E cup is just driving me insane

It's such a nightmare. I actually started taking birth control recently, and I think the constant slight tenderness in my chest is just a side effect... hopefully that settles down once my body gets used to the hormones
but man, PMS used to be an absolute horror show for me

It lasts maybe two days during my cycle and then stops.
My period is six days long, so that goes until September 21st.
Then by October 2nd, they're already swollen and hurting again.

I went through the exact same thing. Bananas were my lifesaver. About two weeks before my period hits, I eat half a banana every single day—not a whole one because it's too heavy on my stomach—and the soreness just disappears. It used to be unbearable.
Actually, I didn't try the banana trick for the sensitivity, but it totally stopped the heavy clotting I was getting during my period.

What’s the deal with the banana? Let's see if it really has to be bananas or if something else works too... 🤷 😁

Maybe it's a potassium thing and helps with water retention, but half a banana sounds way too small to actually do anything.🤷

Edit: Just saw it says half a banana over two weeks—okay, that's actually a decent amount of fruit.🤔 I'll give it a shot.

I’m a huge fan of bananas—honestly, I probably eat one almost every single day—but despite that, I deal with this constant chest pain. It starts right around ovulation and just lingers until my period finally shows up. On top of that, there's the issue with blood clots. I make sure to go to my OB-GYN for regular checkups, so I know everything is technically fine on paper.

I also deal with breast tenderness about two weeks before my period starts... I can't stand anyone touching them, and even my bra feels a bit too tight lately.

Maybe it's some joke about potassium and water retention.

Only bananas work for me. I've tried every other fruit out there and nothing hits the same way.
Is it the potassium? Magnesium? Vitamin B? Who knows.
Once I realized only bananas did the trick, I stopped playing chemist. It's too painful to keep experimenting.

Karen Brooks said:I love bananas and I eat almost every single day one at a time, but despite that, I still deal with chest pains from ovulation all the way until my period starts, plus I get clots.

One day I actually forgot to eat my banana and everything went right back to normal—clots and all. Even the chest pain didn't really ease up like it does when I eat them regularly, and I mean literally every day.

It might sound stupid or unbelievable, but it’s the only thing that works for me, so I stick to it religiously.

My takeaway? You just have to find "your" fruit, and the breast pain and clots will vanish!
