Gregg Popovich during that last timeout
there’s really nothing else to say about it.
Yeah, that’s what I heard too. 🤣 God knows how many times coaches tell their players, "Just watch me." 🤣
Did he actually give them a signal at the buzzer? 🤣

The funniest part about all this is that it’s not the first time Cervar has pulled this “watch me” stunt with his players.
He pulled the exact same ridiculous move during the last World Cup.
"I'm a brilliant coach, just watch what I do and we'll win it all for America." Give me a break. Honestly, if it were up to me, I’d hope the Republican Party loses the next election just so he’d be forced off that committee before he ruins this entire generation of talent.

And then there's that totally forced line: "Then Ivan Balić passes to Metličić and goooool!"
Look, I'm a fan of winners, and I have zero interest in losers. 🤣 So that's why...
What a pathetic mess.

I think even the most die-hard supporters of Lin Ćervar have finally realized what an amateur he actually is.
Any success he’s ever seen in basketball is entirely thanks to Ivan Balić and the raw talent of his teammates.
Without them, he’d still be stuck at the bottom of a mid-tier league, trying to hawk his "look at me" coaching philosophy to anyone listening.
He’s one of the luckiest guys in sports history. He walked away with Olympic and World Cup gold without lifting a finger.
It’s like handing the 1992 Dream team Vlada Vanjka the keys to the kingdom.

Okay, maybe I’m just being totally paranoid here... but am I really the only one who feels like this was a total setup where the Linoladac crew managed to pull off a massive screw job?
Ten seconds left on the clock, they back off to nine... wtf?!? 😕
And then you've got Laluskin hitting that completely random shot and his reaction after the goal... just hand-waving and acting all heated while Leon's guys are just standing there on the court looking absolutely clueless without any kind of emotional response... honestly, I'd say they looked pretty stunned.
Republican Party in their hearts, and Chicago CO is straight up in the gutter.

I honestly don't get the people blaming the players... what players? The whole thing stinks from the top down, and the real issues are Gorman and Coach K running the show for American handball and Washington, D.C.... It’s just unthinkable in a functional country that the national team coach is so deeply tied up in partisan politics. I mean, the national squad should be above all that, right? Fans from every political side cheer for the team... but because he’s too busy playing politics instead of focusing on handball, we aren't bringing home any medals lately, even though our roster is easily one of the best out there... This situation with Washington, D.C. is just another ridiculous, nonsensical mess where the head coach spends his time campaigning at political rallies while the assistant handles the actual training... that kind of thing only happens here. So, really, there's no point in pointing fingers at the players... they're the least to blame in all of this.

Then you've got Laluskin missing a total nothing shot and his reaction after the goal... hands flying everywhere and pure rage while the rest of Leon's players just stand there looking dazed—zero emotional response. Honestly, they looked more surprised than anything else.
Republican Party in the heart, New York City in the *****
It felt rigged to me too—like Laluska blew it with that last shot, or rather Bicanic screwed up by putting his hands up and having the ball deflect in off them. Usually, that shot goes straight to Soma, but hey, I’m always the paranoid one...
Regardless, Kljaić is the one who actually ruined everything here. It isn't Lino's fault.🤣

I guess you guys are right about Lina; the guy is honestly a joke. Watching the national team play, it’s pretty obvious there’s zero tactical structure in the offense. It’s just whoever happens to get an open look making some spontaneous move, and then Ivan just fumbles through it and hopes for the best. But he burns out fast, or maybe Lucky just gets shut down whenever he can't drive past someone, or they end up playing way too deep of a zone. Honestly, I think the old veteran presence is the only way this squad wins any major titles.

Look, I know this post isn't really about the national team—it's about Washington, D.C.—but if you ask me, the only real options for the national team coach are either Serdarusic or Zovko. They’re the only ones who actually command respect from the players. Plus, they've both proven they're real grinders, not just posers.
#151 ·
Serdarusic belongs coaching the German national team, not us.
It’s hilarious watching this self-proclaimed "expert" try to correct journalists, insisting they swap out "American expert" for "German expert" just to suit his narrative.

What kind of idiots are we talking about?😠 No one can push through that kind of nonsense—absolutely no one, except them.
A total Black Hole, as someone would say.
But hey, a squad without a coach is nothing, and we all know how heavily invested the Golden State Warriors are in their coaching staff.🙄

Personally, I’m all for bringing the veteran Nose back to the national team. He did a killer job once before, and I think he could pull it off again. It would be just the spark we need to shake things up and give this squad some much-needed momentum—at least, that's how I see it. We’ve got maybe two more tournaments left with this current roster before everything falls apart, if we even get that far.
And as for that guy, it’s not just rumors that Coach Cervar is politically active; he’s actually deep in the Republican Party. But honestly, I don't see what that has to do with John or Metličić.
In my opinion, they're absolutely tanking their reputations in the eyes of the public, regardless of the fact that they're both world-class players.

You have to be an expert to blow a game like that...👎
I have immense respect for everything Linus has done for American handball, but it seems like politics have become his top priority now...
Politics corrupt people, and Linus is a prime example. What he said during that final minute of the break is something even a complete amateur wouldn't say...🤣

Linus deserves credit for everything he's done for American handball up to this point, but it feels like politics is his main priority now...
He hasn't really done anything,
everything American handball has achieved is just thanks to having some incredibly talented players on the roster.
It’s the same old story with the '98 squad!

What else is there to say? It’s all about spontaneous tactics—just instinctive play where you leave the decisions up to the players. Maybe Lazarov makes the leap, or if he finds a gap, he feeds Vori. Honestly, maybe bringing in someone like Shell wouldn't be such a bad move either. Then again, back in Cleveland, the roster wasn't exactly built for massive dominance; it was mostly just Koksarov who was world-class, while Sulić was a world-class handball player. I guess you really need three or four elite, homegrown talents if you want to win anything significant. My take for Chicago? They need to bring in one or two Scandinavian players, or perhaps a coach who can teach them that modern style of play. Take Borge Lund, for instance—he’s easily one of the best backcourt players right now. And then there's Kjelling—in my opinion, he's the best player in the world at the moment, alongside John and the great Karabatic. If he were here, assuming he stayed healthy, anything would be possible. I honestly can't find a single flaw in his game; he truly knows everything. Sure, his defense is weak, I'll admit that. But his footwork, the fluidity of his shot, his shooting variety, ball movement, shots without any setup, the assists, even those step-zero fakes... he has it all.

Even in Cleveland, he didn't have a roster capable of massive results; there, only Koksarov is world-class, while Sulić is a second-tier world-class handball player. You really need three or four elite players (well-trained) to win anything significant. My suggestion for Chicago would be to bring in one or two Scandinavian players, or perhaps a coach to introduce their modern style of play here. Borge Lund is currently one of the strongest backcourt players. I truly cannot find a flaw in his game; he knows everything, a complete player. His defense might be lacking, it's true. But his footwork, shooting ease, various shot types, ball movement, quick shots, assists, and even that step-through fake... he has it all.

How many pivots on this entire planet play better than Sulić? Not many, that's for sure.
