1. So, can having sex on average three or four times a week actually be a reason why someone might need a hysterectomy??????

2. I’m trying to decide between getting an IUD or just sticking with birth control pills. Personally, I’d much rather just take a pill, but let’s be real—I am incredibly forgetful. Given how easily I'd miss a dose, an IUD seems like the more reliable way to go, right? But now I'm wondering about the downsides. What kind of side effects should I expect? Are there certain health issues or infections that become more common because of them?

Thanks!

I've been sitting here for at least two minutes trying to figure out what to say to you

I’ve been left feeling pretty stuck in the middle myself, too. I had two different people tell me two different things, and now I’m just sitting here wondering—who on earth am I supposed to believe?

Where on earth did you find those two?

Honestly, I’d personally recommend having sex twice a day instead.
I really think all those negative side effects just cancel themselves out!
The only catch is you have to stick to the therapy for at least 20 years, and then you can maybe cut it in half over the next 20.

I can’t help but laugh... I am still laughing... honestly, it’s just constant laughter at this point...🤣 🤣 🤣
You really ought to believe these two individuals; they clearly possess more insight than the entire medical establishment combined, let alone those poor souls who have managed to crack open a textbook or two in their lifetimes.🙏
brightowl13, no, that certainly won't result in you losing your uterus, much like how masturbation won't cause hair to sprout from your palms, nor will it blind you, and it certainly won't land you in hell just because you enjoy pleasuring your boyfriend.

As for IUDs or birth control pills—just look up some information online, though I suspect the right choice depends heavily on your age and the specific nature of your relationship. Even modern IUDs are designed to flood your system with hormones, and while they might be safer than older models, I personally find the idea of swallowing a pill far more palatable than having an implant lodged inside my body...

stormymaker24 - They’re basically family, if you want to call it that—one is actually related, and the other is her godmother.

As for the second part—she’s married and has one kid. Honestly, I’m not exactly looking to be just a "visitor" in someone else's life, but I find myself torn between these two options. At the end of the day, I want to actually enjoy sex without that constant, nagging uncertainty of whether or not I might end up pregnant, even if we are being careful about tracking fertile days and all that.

Alright, help me out here—what kind of logic leads to the conclusion that having a healthy sex life would result in needing a hysterectomy?
Honestly, it sounds ridiculous to me, but I’m genuinely curious about what those two people were thinking when they reached that cause

As for any questions regarding birth control pills or an IUD, your gynecologist will definitely be able to give you much better guidance on that
I actually know plenty of women who are completely happy with their IUDs

The only places where I have ever encountered such utter nonsense are within certain religious pamphlets and similar publications. According to their logic, bacteria are introduced far more frequently than they ought to be, and they claim that vigorous sexual activity somehow damages the cervix or the uterus itself, eventually necessitating surgical removal. That is the narrative I have heard, though I suspect the actual causes cited by my relatives are entirely different and perhaps carry a modicum of sense. Or am I mistaken?

My mother insists with unwavering persistence that tanning is perfectly healthy, so I simply tune her out, regardless of our biological connection. One always seems to find the most misguided individuals within one's own family tree.

If you have already had children and have no desire for more, an IUD could truly be your best option. I sincerely hope you have access to a competent gynecologist, but before your appointment, I suggest you do some research online so you can vet their advice and ask the right questions. As I mentioned, there is a wealth of information available on the internet if you take the time to read through it.

I’m well aware of how all this works, but I’m genuinely curious to hear what everyone else thinks about these two "issues"

Honestly, I don't have any clue what their reasoning was—I didn't even bother asking because I was just left completely speechless. I mean, how can anyone even say something like that when the consensus is always that you should stay active to keep your cardiovascular system healthy? Like, hello???

p.s. I'm typing this on my sister's MacBook so please excuse any typos

2. IUD or the pill? Personally, I’d go with the pill, but since I have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to daily doses, an IUD seems like the smarter play. Now I'm wondering about side effects—are we talking common issues, infections, or what?

thanks
