Who's checking out my profile?

Is there actually an option that lets me see who’s been lurking on my profile or reading my posts, or is that kind of insight reserved strictly for the moderators?

Also, if I decide to go down a rabbit hole and read someone else's posts, will they be notified, or is there some way for them to track my activity?

It’s not just the mods; anyone can read your profile or your posts. As for seeing who is looking at you... well, that's not something you can see.

So, you're telling me even the moderators can't see who's reading their posts?

That seems off to me. My assumption was that they actually had that capability.

Why does it bother you so much who’s reading this? Honestly, it’s entirely up to you whether you want to stay anonymous on the forum or not. As long as you aren't out there handing out your personal info or posting selfies, nobody is going to know who you are...😉

No, they can't. The forum is public, so anyone can read quotes without even registering.

Doesn't it strike you as a bit nonsensical—if you really stop to think about it—that anyone can wander in and read whatever you drop into a thread, yet somehow, there's this unspoken rule against reading the actual post list 😕

...Nah, you can't see who viewed your profile. Not even the mods, the SMs, or I'm pretty sure not even the admins.
Actually... there's one tiny loophole, but you'd need the stars to align and the weather to be perfect just to catch it: say you're looking at my profile, then I click on your username and hit the View thread option, and then it shows what you're currently doing on Reddit.

I was just wondering because, on some other sites, any registered user can see exactly who’s been browsing their profile, so I assumed the moderators and admins here had that kind of power. That would be pretty lame, though. Everyone would know exactly who they were trying to impress immediately. 😉

That doesn't have to be the case on Reddit.

...exactly...and even if I am online, I'd have to actually click your profile to see what you're up to...so the odds of someone knowing they read your profile are basically zero...

I honestly find it pretty entertaining to keep an eye on the mods, SMs, and admins—as long as they aren't hiding in the shadows—just to see where they're actually hanging out...😬
