Tattoo removal: What are your experiences?

I wasn't entirely sure where this would fit best, so I figured I'd drop it in the health section—though if the moderators think it belongs somewhere else, please feel free to move it 😁

So, basically,
I got a new tattoo about a week ago, and now I’m noticing these little scabs forming right over the colored parts of the design.
I was just wondering if that’s a standard part of the healing process? Does anyone know how long it usually takes for those to clear up?😕

It’s completely normal. You’ll likely start seeing some peeling after just a few days—mine started about a week in, but my second one actually began peeling by day three or four. Whatever you do, please don't pick at it. Just keep rinsing it with water and applying Bepanthen exactly like you were instructed. It might itch like crazy, which can be incredibly frustrating, but you really shouldn't scratch or pull at anything. It is perfectly standard for that top layer of ink to flake off. Pretty soon after that happens, the tattoo settles into your skin and won't feel raised anymore.

So, the guy at the tattoo shop told me I was going to love this, but then he added that it wasn't exactly what he expected to see—and honestly, that sent me into a bit of a panic...

To entire tattoo looks like one giant black scab to me. My first one didn't have this much raised texture... should I be worried? 😢
