20 years since the Universiade!

Anyone else still thinking about those opening nights? The flares going up... the energy during the games... do you guys have any old photos, maybe some merch or an old pin tucked away somewhere...

I remember when the USSR sent a team from the Boston Celtics to that soccer tournament, and they were all Lithuanian. I guess Ivanauskas was the only one who actually turned into something of a player later on. I watched a fair amount of the games on TV, though. It seemed pretty well organized, and Zaga was a pretty cute mascot... 🙂

Zagi!!! 😍

I once had one of those rubber ducks. The tail just snapped right off. 😢

It was absolute chaos everywhere. I mean, everything from Madison Square Garden to the local high school stadium was getting hit. Honestly, it felt more intense than some of those military exercises we see on TV. 👍
he he, [ćiro] I can just imagine [/ćiro] if things got really crazy, it’d be like that old comedy sketch where they keep asking, 'Where's your ID? Where's your ID?' 🤣
