You haven't done a thing to me, dear, though maybe you should have. Like you can see, there’s a regular old crew here. God forgave them, so why shouldn't we humans? 😘

Oh, I totally can... I mean, why wouldn't I? I just kind of fixated on how you used that certain four-letter word in your comment. It felt a little offβ€”honestly, a little awkwardβ€”seeing someone so well-educated throw that around in this day and age.
There are plenty of other filler words out there that actually fit the vibe better...πŸ™„

Hmm... it’s not that I don't know them, but maybe there's just some resistance toward certain types of forced, "cultured" behavior... I don't usually go on, for crying out loud, but I'm certainly not lacking in vocabulary (not that I value people who use fancy words any less) whenever I have the chance to express myself in a more casual way...

Sam Hall15 said:hm....it’s not like I don't know them, it’s more just maybe a little rebellion against all that fake, performative "cultured" behavior... I mean, I don't go around dropping f-bombs constantly, but I’m definitely not one for being overly precious with my vocabulary (not that I value people any less because of how they talk) whenever I get the chance, I just speak my mind...

Look, I never said you didn't know them, and I wasn't trying to "teach anyone manners," which is why I told you not to take it personally. I totally get that rebellious streak you're talking aboutβ€”honestly, I kind of dig that attitude. And I never said I respect people any less just because of their word choice or vocabulary, or whatever you want to call it....
I'm just glad that kind of language isn't part of your professional persona, because... just imagine this: I'm a lawyer by trade, and can you picture me saying "f***" to a client? (or you to a patient) 😱 .
To me, it's not about being "fancy" with words, it's just basic personal decency. 😳

I took your comments as being completely well-intentioned, and I hope I read that rightβ€”I'm certainly not upset with you
Naturally, I don't speak to my patients this way 😁
though I do occasionally adapt my vocabulary to better connect with them, particularly when working with the elderly

Personal culture also involves embracing diversity and practicing tolerance toward different dialects; by that logic, every doctor in NYC should stop using regional slang (though, for the record, I always stick to standard American English when speaking with patients)

Honestly, if we applied that logic, every doctor in NYC should stop using heavy regional slangβ€”not that I do, obviously, I stick to proper American English when I'm seeing patients.

Look, my intentions were purely good... and hey, I’m glad you took it that way. Actually, I’ll go a step further and say I was just teasing. I love a good joke, and honestly? I actually enjoy reading your comments. I think they're pretty chill and actually quite charming.πŸ™‚

Tanya, jadesailor14... I'm losing my mind hereπŸ€” just wondering if I accidentally slipped back into the 17th century because it feels like I've got a nanny breathing down my neck constantly😲 .......πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

...Maybe so, but I know for a fact you deleted one of your own incredibly inappropriate posts in the "STOMACH CANCER - HELP!" thread.
All I know is that I was shocked, and even more so when I realized you were actually a moderator.

Sorry for going off-topic.

Sorry for going off-topic.

Look, everyone gets the chance to delete their own stuff.

And that post wasn't even remotely inappropriate, so that's not why I took it down. I deleted it because it was starting a massive flame war, not because there was anything wrong or offensive about what was written... πŸ˜‰

Well now....... 😈
I’m thinking about suggesting the entire government switch over to a UN diet.
I mean, everyone could easily drop a few pounds between Monday and Friday if they tried! πŸ™‚
