The patches look somewhat like depigmentation, though I suspect they might actually be related to circulation issues. Has anyone else dealt with this? I tend to be quite pale and often end up looking a bit like a vampire myself. 😬

Could be vitiligo. There's a fresh thread about it floating around here, so go check that out. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious.

So, a friend of mine ended up with these two white patches on her back, and her doctor told her it was some kind of fungal thing triggered by a pH imbalance or something along those lines.

Since she’s got super dry skin, she’s been slathering on these heavy-duty, super rich moisturizers twice a day, so we're thinking she might have just totally suffocated her skin with all that grease.

She was prescribed some medicated creams, and apparently, things should settle down in a few months—as long as she stays out of the sun in the meantime.

Yeah, fungus is a thing, and most of the time you catch it from feet...😬
My dermatologist says the worst move at the beach is using towels that have been spread out on the ground, then wrapping them around yourself, drying off, or even lying on them.
I’m thinking about having a pharmacy whip up some custom solution for me to apply—just something to use until next swimming season, mostly for the pool.
I'll find that little slip where my doctor wrote down the formula they need to mix it, and I'll post it here tomorrow...

Do those spots disappear if you rub your cheek a little bit?
or are they more like permanent patches or discoloration that just stays there?
