A few months back, I had an eye exam and found out my vision isn't quite what it used to be.
I’ve been weighing my options for a while now, trying to decide if I should just commit to a pair of glasses or dive into contact lenses. Is there really a significant difference in the daily experience between the two? Also, does anyone know if it's actually feasible to find colored contact lenses, and where might one go to pick those up? Finally, I'm curious about the general price range and which retailers or clinics would be the best bet for this sort of thing. Thanks 🙂

So you've been stuck in this loop for months now—trying to decide between glasses or contacts? And instead of just picking one, you're just letting your prescription get worse and worse... walking around basically blind? (I really hope you aren't driving 😠 )

Just keep overthinking it then, sweetheart... see where that gets you 🙂

By the way, what’s your prescription? What is the eye doctor actually telling you to do...

You’re going to need glasses regardless, and contacts are just an option if you want them. I’ve been wearing soft contacts for seven years now, though I still keep a pair of glasses on hand just in case...

Regarding what you said about my bad eyesight, shut your mouth. 😠

Contact lenses are way better for me—wider field of vision, no blurry mess, they don't slide down my nose, and they don't leave those annoying marks on my bridge... they're great. Plus, I don't have to deal with glasses. 😁

Yeah, I'm with you on that one...

I’m with you on the contacts being a major upgrade. Aside from that point you made, my vision is definitely clearer now. I have to use a slightly lower prescription for my glasses since they sit a bit further from my eyes, but I'd be totally lost without them. Once those contacts come out, everything just goes blurry... especially with a -3.5 prescription.
Kimberly Davis52, what kind of contacts are you wearing? How often do you take them out or swap them... and what’s your prescription?

Yeah, well, another perk of contacts is that you can actually wear sunglasses without looking ridiculous...😁

One eye is around -2.75, the other's closer to -4.75, or whatever—I can't be bothered to check right now. Once I take my contacts out, I'm done. I just head straight to bed. 😁

I use those Bausch + Lomb soft dailies, put them in the second I wake up, and rip them out before sleep.

I've been doing it this way for six years and honestly? It works perfectly for me. 👋

wait, how are you supposed to take them out after you've already passed out? 😬

I tried that once and ended up needing an eye patch for a couple of days... 😁 😁 😁

What kind of thread is this 🙂

If it weren't for contact lenses, I think more than half of us would be wearing glasses
especially those newer styles because of all the computer glare and stuff

Now I've been agonizing over the decision for quite some time. Should I go with glasses or contact lenses? What are the pros and cons of each? Also, does anyone know if it's possible to get colored contacts? Finally, what kind of prices are we looking at, and where can I actually pick these things up? Thanks! 🙂

I have a -1 prescription. I wear contacts, and honestly, they don't bother me at all, whether I'm wearing them from sunrise to sunset or dealing with smoke and dust. I've even slept in them when I didn't have the chance to take them out. I don't deal with dry eye issues, wind doesn't irritate them, and I can throw sunglasses right over them without any hassle; for the most part, I'm extremely satisfied. In the beginning, I had to turn on every light in the house and use three different mirrors just to get them in, but I've practiced enough now that I can pop both in within thirty seconds even in the dark. 😁

Oh, and it’s never once happened that I had to take them out while I was out and about because they became uncomfortable. I just put them in and forget they're even there.

Anyway, try checking here: http://www.mayoclinic.org/

That's who I see. He's a real pro. I remember him looking into my eye once and telling me, "I can tell from here if you've got diabetes, a brain tumor, or [he listed several other ailments I can't recall], but basically, son, you're healthy as a horse!" 😎 🙏
