03/09 Manhattan Concert: Cog + Death Disco + Man Zero

Just wanted to chime in with my two cents on this one...
After that crazy night we had when the Slavonian group hit up that local community center (?) last time, I gotta say, both the neighborhood crew and the DD folks totally crushed it—way beyond what anyone expected...
I mean, seriously, they weren't throwing bottles at us or anything crazy like that...it was all smooth sailing...😍

Ntx finally embraced his inner rock star!

He was actually barfing out of the van on the interstate.

While we were driving.😵

Here’s the transcript, complete with stage directions:

Middle of the night, somewhere outside of Columbus...

I'm behind the wheel, everyone else is (obviously) passed out...
Ntx is chilling in the passenger seat.

Suddenly, he bolts upright and starts looking around all panicked...
Me: Hey man, you okay?

Ntx: Pull over, I'm gonna puke!

Me: Hang on, just hold on a sec....

Ntx [already barfing, head basically hanging out the window]
We pull over.

[laughter]

Ntx: BUAAAARRRGGHHHHHHHHH [sound of vomiting]
Ntx [summoning about two seconds of strength for the punchline]: Man, if that isn't metal.

Ntx: [as soon as he says that, it happens again]: BUAAAARRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

[laughter]

Ntx: Dude, my breath is so bad it could wake up a Požega native at a The National concert.

A guy recently compared Toljagin's drumming to Ministry in the latest episode:

Zero: They were basically some hard/heavy rock instrumentals with barely any vocals, just over a few tracks. They played solid, but to me, they sounded most like those instrumentals from the last Deftones album where they were really experimenting

COG: The second band was COG, which is a mystical name—there's probably some deep meaning behind it. A friend gave me a heads-up they were a post-rock band, and he was looking forward to them.
