Living with Aplastic Anemia

Okay... so what actually is aplastic anemia?
I don't know anything about it, honestly, but I was watching Dr. House and now I'm kind of curious...

It basically boils down to when the bone marrow dies off and just stops pumping out blood cells altogether. Usually, this happens because of some kind of cancer or as a side effect from radiation therapy.

I’ve been diagnosed with aplastic anemia—so, if there’s anything specific you want to know, just ask. I'm an open book. 🙂

I was wondering if anyone could share some insight regarding the potential complications for a male bone marrow donor...

I just caught up on this thread... regarding donors for heart transplants—there aren't any complications involved. At least, that’s what I’ve heard from people on the medical side. For the recipient, sure, there's a risk of rejection, but for the donor? There is absolutely nothing to worry about.
