I've broken out in this weird rash all over my body, but my doctor couldn't give me a solid diagnosis until I get some lab work done. She prescribed some lotion to help with the itching, but honestly, it didn't last long and wasn't very effective. Does anyone know a good home remedy to take the edge off the itch? It’s not so intense that I’m losing my mind, but it gets pretty irritating at times.😁

Think of it like liquid foundation for shrimp. There's menthol in it so it has a cooling effect, though it does dry your skin out a bit.
First things first, try switching up your laundry detergent and fabric softener. A close friend of mine dealt with the exact same thing about a year ago, and it turned out her new fabric softener was the culprit. As soon as she ditched it, the rash vanished.

Can I actually pick this up at a pharmacy without a prescription?

Look, before we go down any rabbit holes, maybe just try switching up your laundry detergent and fabric softener first? A close friend of mine went through this exact same thing about a year ago—broke out everywhere—and she realized it was all because she switched to a different brand of softener. The second she stopped using it, the rash vanished completely. Just a thought!

And honestly, it could totally be your body wash too! 😬

I really can't recommend aloe vera gel enough... it’s honestly amazing. I’m actually still using some I have left even though it's technically expired, mostly because I haven't figured out where else to pick it up since I originally ordered mine through a catalog. It works wonders on mosquito bites, so I'd imagine it helps with pretty much any kind of skin itch too... 😬 Maybe try checking at a local CVS or Walgreens.

I deal with regular rashes... that shrimp lotion is actually decent. My doctor prescribed some milk-based cream for dermatitis, though I can't recall the specific name—it’s custom-made at the pharmacy. Just grab some Balea Med from CVS if you want a preservative-free wash for showering.

For me, nothing worked quite like that "frozen" sensation—I’d keep my hands submerged in ice water, take freezing cold showers, or even just stand out on the balcony in my underwear during a bitter windstorm. Back when I was staying at the hospital in New York City, I used to stand right by the window in just a camisole, sticking my hands out into the falling snow. 😍 It isn't exactly great for your heart, though. 😁

You might want to give it a shot with some yogurt!
