That sounds like a massive pain in the ass... I went through something pretty similar about ten years ago. My doctor just threw some broad-spectrum antibiotics at me—I finished two whole boxes, felt a tiny bit better for a second, and then everything just came crashing back.
He eventually sent me off for a urine analysis, and after waiting ten days for the results, they put me on a targeted antibiotic. I took it for two weeks and things finally seemed to settle down.
But of course, a few months later, the symptoms were right back again.
Another round of urine cultures, and they all came back totally clean. I repeated the tests, still nothing on paper, but the physical symptoms weren't going anywhere.
Finally, a coworker suggested I see an infectious disease specialist. Turns out, they ran a urethral swab and isolated *Chlamydia trachomatis*—that nasty little bacterium.
They put me on a combo of gentamicin injections and an oral antibiotic, and after three weeks, I was finally clear.
The doctor told me the bacteria had basically burrowed itself deep into my bladder wall and urethra, so I’ll probably deal with occasional flare-ups whenever I catch a cold.
It’s ridiculous how you can end up a chronic patient over something so stupid just because you didn't get the right treatment immediately.
So, honestly? Forget the herbal teas and all that nonsense. Go see a specialist—ideally a private one who can actually run the right tests in a couple of hours and get you on the correct meds so you can move on with your life. Good luck.
