First it was the Sub Pop mess, then the bottle, then this, then that... whatever.

I honestly had a feeling it wouldn't last much longer... they didn't look nearly as happy during their last show in New York as they used to.

We'll never see another band like this one.

They basically imploded near the end of the nineties because Andrew was a complete mess... and they refused to play without him... So he stepped away... then he started knocking back liters of vodka right before shows... and after them too...

It’s a shame... after twenty years of grinding, I really thought that once they dropped that compilation on Sub Pop, they’d finally see some real money and mainstream success here in America... A buddy of mine told me that back in '97 in San Francisco, people were literally begging them to just take a performance fee... because they'd only walked away with five bucks for a gig the day before...

The drummer, who was already completely wrecked by then, snapped at my friend just because he was wearing a shirt from a '96 festival... He almost started crying, rambling about how things were different over in Europe... saying they actually had food, drinks, and decent pay there...

What a waste...

Ugh, I need to be clearer from now on. I never doubted they split up for some other reason, but if a bottle really was the cause, that would be one hell of a reason to break up...
